Job summary

Sarthee Consultancy is seeking a senior design engineer to lead the design and development of complex mechanical components using SolidWorks. You will create and review 3D models and 2D drawings, provide technical guidance to junior engineers, and ensure designs meet performance and reliability standards.

The role requires strong proficiency in SolidWorks, DFM, and DFA, with collaboration across manufacturing, QA, and procurement to optimize cost and feasibility.

Qualifications

• Advanced proficiency in SolidWorks (part modeling, assemblies, detailing).
• Strong understanding of mechanical engineering principles, materials, and manufacturing processes.

Responsibilities

• Lead the design and development of complex mechanical components and assemblies using SolidWorks.
• Create, review, and approve detailed 3D models and 2D manufacturing drawings in accordance with engineering standards.
• Provide technical leadership and design guidance to junior and mid-level design engineers.
• Perform and review design calculations, simulations, and analysis to ensure performance, safety, and reliability.
• Collaborate closely with manufacturing, production, quality, and procurement teams to ensure design feasibility and cost optimization.
• Drive design reviews, risk assessments, and value engineering initiatives.
• Prepare and validate technical documentation, including BOMs, assembly instructions, and design reports.
• Support troubleshooting of design-related issues during manufacturing, installation, and commissioning.
• Continuously improve design processes, standards, and best practices across the engineering team.
