Qualifications

Responsibilities

• Lead design of complex mechanical parts and assemblies in SolidWorks.
• Create, review and issue 3D models and 2D drawings per standards.
• Provide design leadership to junior/mid engineers.
• Run and review design calculations and simulations for safety and performance.
• Collaborate with manufacturing, QA, and procurement for feasible, cost-effective designs.
• Lead design reviews, risk assessments, and value engineering.
• Prepare BOMs, assembly instructions, and design reports.
• Troubleshoot design issues during manufacture, installation, commissioning.
• Drive continuous improvement of design processes and standards.

Key Responsibilities

• Lead the design and development of complex mechanical components and assemblies using SolidWorks.


• Create, review, and approve detailed 3D models and 2D manufacturing drawings in accordance with engineering standards.


• Provide technical leadership and design guidance to junior and mid-level design engineers.


• Perform and review design calculations, simulations, and analysis to ensure performance, safety, and reliability.


• Collaborate closely with manufacturing, production, quality, and procurement teams to ensure design feasibility and cost optimization.


• Drive design reviews, risk assessments, and value engineering initiatives.


• Prepare and validate technical documentation, including BOMs, assembly instructions, and design reports.


• Support troubleshooting of design-related issues during manufacturing, installation, and commissioning.


• Continuously improve design processes, standards, and best practices across the engineering team.

Required Skills

• Advanced proficiency in SolidWorks (part modeling, assemblies, detailing).


• Strong understanding of mechanical engineering principles, materials, and manufacturing processes.


• Extensive experience in design for manufacturing (DFM) and design for assembly (DFA).
