Job summary

RGBSI is seeking a sheet metal design engineer to independently design sheet metal parts and assemblies. You will develop 3D models, manufacturing drawings, and BOMs, and redesign existing products to improve manufacturability and reduce cost.

You will contribute to FMEA (design and process) and manage ECN submissions, maintaining clear documentation and communicating with project managers and clients at all stages.

Qualifications

• Proficient in SolidWorks and AutoCAD.
• Ability to read and interpret engineering drawings and convert between 2D and 3D swiftly.

Responsibilities

• Design sheet metal parts and assemblies independently.
• Develop detailed 3D models, manufacturing drawings, and BOMs for sheet metal assemblies.
• Redesign old products to improve manufacturability and reduce cost.
• Contribute to design FMEA and process FMEA to minimize launch issues.
• Prepare ECN submissions and maintain project documentation; report to managers and clients.

Job description

Key Responsibilities:

• Design Sheetmetal parts and assembly independently.
• Develop detailed 3D models, manufacturing drawings, and BOMs for sheet metal assemblies.
• Follow the Product Engineering process. Redesign old products to improve manufacturing and decrease cost.
• Contribute to design FMEA and process FMEA to reduce product launch issues.
• ECN preparation, submissions and Maintain documentation. Writing or presenting reports for project managers and clients. Document and communicate well at each step. Interface with customers, internally and externally, on technical details and project goals. Be the owner of assigned project/task.

Mandatory Skills:

Proficiency in SolidWorks and AutoCAD. Ability to read and interpret the Engineering drawings and convert 2D to 3D and vice versa swiftly.

Sheet Metal proficiency and Structural Design
