Role DescriptionThe Solar Expert will be responsible for consulting on, designing, and optimizing solar power systems for residential and commercial rooftop projects at Solar Smart’s Nagpur location. This full-time, on-site role includes conducting site assessments, preparing technical proposals, and supporting customers with system sizing, performance estimates, and subsidy-related documentation. The Solar Expert will collaborate with engineering and installation teams to ensure accurate layouts, proper component selection, and compliance with safety and regulatory standards. Daily tasks also involve monitoring project execution, troubleshooting system issues, and providing technical guidance to clients and internal stakeholders. The role requires careful documentation, clear communication, and continuous learning to stay current with solar technologies and industry best practices.
Qualifications

• Strong knowledge of solar power systems, including Solar Power and Solar Systems, with the ability to design, evaluate, and optimize rooftop installations.
• Understanding of the broader Solar Industry and Power Generation, including grid-connected and net-metering concepts, and awareness of relevant policies and subsidies.
• Exposure to complementary renewable fields such as Wind Energy is beneficial for integrated or hybrid project considerations.
• Bachelor’s degree or diploma in Electrical Engineering, Renewable Energy, Mechanical Engineering, or a related technical field.
• Experience in solar project execution, site surveys, and coordination with installation teams; familiarity with basic electrical safety standards.
• Ability to interpret technical drawings, use design or simulation tools (e.g., PV design software), and prepare accurate technical reports.
• Effective communication and customer-facing skills to explain technical concepts clearly and build trust with residential and commercial clients.
• Strong problem-solving abilities, attention to detail, and readiness to work on-site in field conditions in and around Nagpur.
