Job summary

Samsung C&T Corporation in Gurugram, India, is seeking an experienced Electrical Design Engineer for ground-mounted solar PV or BESS projects. The role focuses on AC side design, grid connection, and overall electrical optimization, coordinating with civil, mechanical, and structural teams.

Requirements include a degree in Electrical Engineering and 3–18 years of relevant experience, with proficiency in MV/HV systems and design tools such as ETAP, Pvsyst, and DIgSILENT PowerFactory.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Electrical Engineering.
• 3–18 years of experience in design engineering for ground-mounted Solar PV or BESS projects.
• Proficiency in MV/HV systems, substations, grid interconnections, and electrical balance of plant (eBoP).
• Experience with ETAP, Pvsyst, DIgSILENT PowerFactory, AutoCAD, Revit.
• Knowledge of IEC, IS, IEEE, NEC standards for solar/BESS projects.
• Familiarity with utility/grid codes and interconnection requirements.
• Excellent communication and coordination skills for cross-functional project teams.

Responsibilities

• Design and engineering of AC side systems for ground-mounted Solar PV or BESS projects, including MV/HV, grid interconnection, switchgear, protection, transformers, cabling, substations.
• Prepare single line diagrams (SLDs), load flow, short circuit & protection coordination studies.
• Perform electrical system simulations and analysis using industry-standard software (ETAP, DIgSILENT, PSCAD, etc.).
• Coordinate with civil, mechanical, and structural teams to integrate electrical systems into overall project design.
• Review vendor/supplier technical documents for switchgear, transformers, and other AC equipment.
• Provide technical support during construction, commissioning, and troubleshooting phases.
• Support tendering teams with AC side technical inputs, BOQ preparation, and cost estimation.
• Ensure electrical safety, reliability, and energy efficiency in all design aspects.

Job Summary

Samsung C&T is seeking an experienced Electrical Design Engineer with expertise in ground-mounted Solar PV or Battery Energy Storage System (BESS) projects. The role focuses exclusively on the AC side design , covering grid connection, balance of plant, protection systems, and overall electrical design optimization.

Key Responsibilities

• Design and engineering of AC side systems for ground-mounted Solar PV or BESS projects, including:
• Medium and High Voltage (MV/HV) systems
• Grid interconnection
• Switchgear and protection schemes
• Transformers, cabling, and substations
• Prepare single line diagrams (SLDs), load flow, short circuit & protection coordination studies.
• Perform electrical system simulations and analysis using industry-standard software (ETAP, DIgSILENT, PSCAD, etc.).
• Ensure compliance with international codes, standards, and local grid regulations.
• Coordinate with civil, mechanical, and structural teams to integrate electrical systems into overall project design.
