Responsibilities

• Design solar PV systems including module layout, inverter selection, string sizing, single-line diagrams, DC/AC cable sizing.
• Design HT/LT electrical systems and transformer yard for kW to MW scale projects.
• Ensure compliance with IEC, IS, and utility standards and regulations.
• Perform energy yield assessments and system performance simulations using PVsyst.
• Prepare engineering drawings, calculations, BOM, costing sheets and technical documentation.
• Support interconnection applications and coordinate with utility authorities as required.
• Review structural and electrical constraints with structural teams as needed.
• Collaborate with sales/project teams to optimize system cost, performance and constructability.
• Provide technical support during installation, commissioning, and troubleshooting.

Position: Design engineer

Experience Required: 8-10 years in Solar Power Plant EPC / Renewable Energy / Utility Scale, C&I Projects

Role Overview:

The Solar Design Engineer is responsible for designing, analysing, and optimizing solar (PV) systems for residential, commercial, and utility-scale projects. This role involves system layout design, electrical engineering, performance modelling, and code compliance while working closely with sales, project management, procurement, and construction teams to deliver safe, reliable, and cost-effective solar solutions. The candidate will be responsible for end-to-end system design, technical analysis, and ensuring compliance with industry standards and project requirements.

Key Responsibilities:

• Design solar PV systems including module layout, inverter selection, string sizing, single-line diagrams, DC/AC cable sizing and MMS.
• Design HT/LT electrical systems and transformer yard for projects ranging from kW to MW scale.
• Ensure compliance with applicable IEC, IS, and utility standards and regulations.
• Strong understanding of DC/AC systems, LT/HT electrical design, and transformer yard/substation fundamentals.
• Knowledge of net metering, open access regulations, and grid interconnection requirements.
• Conduct site assessments using construction drawings, satellite imagery, and shading analysis tools.
• Perform energy yield assessments and system performance simulations using PVsyst.
• Prepare engineering drawings, calculations, BOM, Costing Sheet and technical documentation for permitting, approvals, and construction.
• Support interconnection applications and coordinate with utility authorities as required.
• Review structural and electrical constraints and collaborate with structural engineering teams where necessary.
• Work closely with sales and project teams to optimize system cost, performance, and constructability.
• Provide technical support during installation, commissioning, and troubleshooting phases.
• Stay updated with emerging solar technologies, industry trends, and best practices.
• Proficient in PVsyst and AutoCAD.

Candidate Profile:

Education:

• BE Electrical Engineering / Renewable Energy or related field. Masters degree (preferred but not mandatory).

Experience:
