Job summary

Amperehour Energy is seeking a skilled Electrical CAD Engineer to translate concepts into detailed construction and tender drawings for utility-scale Solar PV and BESS projects in India.

You will develop SLDs, GA drawings, cable routing, earthing and lightning layouts, and ensure design accuracy and compliance with grid standards under tight timelines, collaborating with cross-functional teams such as Electrical, Civil and SCADA.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree or diploma in Electrical/Mechanical engineering.
• 3–8 years of hands-on Solar/Electrical CAD experience.
• Strong AutoCAD skills and MS Excel proficiency.
• Experience with SLD, GA drawings, cable routing and earthing layouts.

• Preparation of detailed electrical CAD drawings for utility-scale solar PV and BESS projects.

Job description

We are seeking a skilled and detail-oriented Electrical CAD Engineer specializing in utility-scale Solar PV and Battery Energy Storage Systems (BESS). In this role, you will be responsible for translating engineering concepts into detailed, high-quality construction and tender drawings. You will work closely with cross-functional engineering and site teams to ensure design accuracy, compliance with grid standards, and seamless project execution under tight timelines.

Key Responsibilities

• 1. Preparation of detailed electrical CAD drawings for utility-scale solar PV and BESS projects.
• 2. Development of Single Line Diagrams (SLD), GA drawings, cable routing (AC/DC), earthing & lightning layouts.
• 3. Experience in 33kV pooling substation layouts and inverter-based systems.
• 4. Preparation of pre-bid drawings, BOQ, and tender engineering inputs.
• 5. Coordination with Electrical, Civil, SCADA and site teams.
• 6. Understanding of PCS/inverter systems (central/string) and basic grid requirements
• 7. Strong AutoCAD skills (mandatory) and MS Excel for BOQ/quantity take-off.
• 8. Exposure to PVsyst/Homer (preferred).
• 9. Ability to maintain drawing quality, standards, and revision control under tight timelines.

• Bachelor’s degree or diploma in Electrical Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, or related field.
