Job summary

Expleo Group is seeking a Software Test Engineer with 3–5 years of hands-on experience in functional testing for web and mobile applications. The role focuses on NBFC or financial services domains, requiring strong SQL data validation, API testing with Postman/Swagger, and agile delivery experience.

You will work with business analysts, product owners, and developers to design test scenarios, execute test cycles, and contribute to QA dashboards and release readiness.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in CS/IT/Engineering or related field.
• 3–5 years of experience in software/functional testing.
• Experience in NBFC, banking, lending, fintech projects preferred.
• ISTQB Foundation or equivalent testing certification is a plus.

Job description

We are looking for a Software Test Engineer with 3 to 5 years of experience in functional testing, preferably within the NBFC, lending, or financial services domain. The candidate should have hands‑on experience in testing web and mobile applications, understanding business requirements, preparing test scenarios and test cases, executing functional test cycles, supporting API testing, validating data using SQL, and coordinating with development, business, and product stakeholders.

The role requires strong exposure to Agile delivery, participation in Scrum ceremonies, defect triage, QA reporting, and dashboard inputs. Experience in lending applications, especially MSME lending, loan origination, onboarding, underwriting, disbursement, repayment, or loan servicing workflows, will be an added advantage.

Responsibilities

• Understand business requirements, functional specifications, user stories, and acceptance criteria for NBFC and lending applications.
• Prepare detailed test scenarios, test cases, test data, and test execution evidence for web and mobile application testing.
• Perform functional testing, regression testing, smoke testing, sanity testing, integration testing, and UAT support activities.
• Test mobile and web application workflows across customer onboarding, loan application, document upload, eligibility checks, approval, disbursement, repayment, and servicing journeys.
• Support testing of lending workflows, preferably in MSME lending, retail lending, or loan origination and loan management systems.
• Participate in Agile Scrum ceremonies including sprint planning, daily stand-ups, backlog refinement, sprint reviews, and retrospectives.
• Work closely with business analysts, product owners, developers, QA leads, and business stakeholders to clarify requirements and testing scope.
• Execute API testing using Postman and Swagger for validating request/response structures, business rules, status codes, error handling, and integration flows.
• Use SQL queries to validate application data, backend records, transaction status, workflow updates, and test data correctness.
• Log, track, retest, and close defects using defect management tools such as JIRA, Azure DevOps, or similar platforms.
• Participate in defect triage calls and coordinate with development and business/product stakeholders for timely defect resolution.
• Provide daily test execution status, defect status, blockers, risks, and QA dashboard inputs to the QA lead or project team.
• Support test execution metrics, defect metrics, sprint QA status, and release readiness inputs.
• Ensure proper documentation of test results, defect evidence, test data, and execution summaries.
• Support production validation, post-release sanity testing, and business user support during release cycles.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, Engineering, or a related discipline.
• 3 to 5 years of experience in software testing / functional testing.
• Prior experience working in NBFC, banking, lending, fintech, or financial services projects is preferred.
• Experience in Agile delivery and Scrum-based project execution is required.
• ISTQB Foundation certification or equivalent testing certification will be an added advantage.

Desired Skills

• Experience in MSME lending, retail lending, loan origination, loan management, or digital lending platforms.
• Understanding of loan lifecycle workflows such as lead capture, onboarding, KYC, credit assessment, approval, disbursement, repayment, delinquency, and servicing.
• Exposure to LOS, LMS, CRM, collections, or customer‑facing lending applications.
• Experience in mobile app testing across Android and iOS platforms.
• Basic understanding of API integrations, JSON payloads, authentication, and error handling.
• Experience with JIRA, Azure DevOps, Confluence, or similar QA and Agile tools.
• Exposure to test management, traceability, QA metrics, and release governance.
• Good understanding of UAT support, business validation, and production sanity testing.

Experience

• 3 to 5 years of experience as a Software Test Engineer / Functional Tester / QA Engineer.
• Minimum 2+ years of experience in functional testing of web and/or mobile applications.
• Prior experience in NBVC, lending, fintech, banking, or financial services projects is preferred.
• Experience in MSME lending or digital lending platforms will be highly preferred.
• Hands‑on experience in Agile project execution, API testing using Postman/Swagger, SQL‑based validation, defect triage, and QA reporting is expected.
