Job summary

Kumaran Systems in Hyderabad is seeking a detail-oriented Functional QA Engineer to ensure the quality of web applications through manual and automated testing. You will collaborate with developers, product managers, and designers to meet functional and business requirements.

Qualifications

• 3+ years of experience in Manual Testing.
• Hands-on experience automating tests using Playwright + Python (Mandatory).
• Solid understanding of API Testing — Postman / REST Assured / similar tools.
• Working knowledge of SQL for database validation.
• Experience testing across UI, Microservices, and Backend/DB layers.
• Good understanding of STLC, Defect Lifecycle, and Agile Methodology.
• Familiarity with Angular, TypeScript, and RxJS to understand front-end behavior and write precise test selectors.
• Experience with CI/CD pipeline integration for automated test execution.

Responsibilities

• Design and execute test plans, test cases, and checklists covering functional, regression, smoke, integration, and exploratory testing.
• Develop and maintain automated test scripts using Playwright + Python following the Page Object Model (POM).
• Perform end-to-end testing of Angular-based SPAs.
• Validate REST APIs using Playwright API testing, Postman, or similar tools.
• Perform database validation using SQL queries to verify backend data integrity.
• Integrate automated test suites into CI/CD pipelines (GitHub Actions / Azure DevOps / Jenkins).
• Log clear, reproducible bug reports with steps, screenshots, and logs; track through resolution via Jira / Azure DevOps.
• Actively participate in Agile/Scrum ceremonies — sprint planning, grooming, and retrospectives.
