Job summary

The Standard India is seeking a Software Engineer V to join the AI Delivery team. You will design, build, and operate production-grade software powering AI-driven workflows across the enterprise.

You will own platform architectures, drive technical direction, and ensure high standards for performance, reliability, security, and user experience. Hybrid base in Bengaluru with on-site requirement.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in software-related field.
• 8–12+ years building/operating large-scale production software.
• Experience in regulated industries preferred (financial/health).
• Expert Python with RESTful API design (FastAPI/Flask).
• Distributed systems, APIs, events at enterprise scale.

Job Summary

The Standard India is seeking a Software Engineer V to join the AI Delivery team in the development and operation of production-grade software systems that power AI-driven workflow products across the enterprise. You will be part of an innovative, cross-functional team designing, building, and operating high-performance software systems that bring advanced AI capabilities into the heart of core business workflows. As a principal-level individual contributor, you will own and shape critical platform and system architectures, drive technical direction across multiple initiatives, and ensure solutions meet exceptional standards for performance, reliability, security, and user experience. Working closely with Product Owners, Data Scientists, AI/ML Engineers, Product Architects, SDETs, and business partners, you will translate complex, ambiguous problems into durable, scalable systems that deliver sustained enterprise value. This role is ideal for engineers who thrive in highly complex environments and enjoy building foundational systems that make AI fast, reliable, and intuitive at scale. You will apply deep engineering expertise and sound judgment to design, build, and operate APIs, services, and platforms that expose AI (ML and GenAI) capabilities in production, with a strong focus on long-term system health, evolution, and alignment across teams. Operating in cloud-native Azure environments, you will influence system design patterns, shape delivery pipelines, and lead through technical examples and rigorous engineering standards.

• Ability to work on-site in Bengaluru, India is a requirement of the role.

Mode of Working

This role follows a hybrid work model, with a primary base in Bengaluru. While on-site presence is essential for key engagements, flexibility is offered for remote work based on business needs and team alignment.

Skills And Background You’ll Need

Education: A Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Software Engineering, Computer Science, or Information Systems is required.

Experience: 8–12+ years of experience building and operating large-scale, production software systems with sustained business impact. Experience in regulated industries (financial services, insurance, healthcare) is strongly preferred.

• Expert-level proficiency in Python, including designing and implementing robust, scalable RESTful APIs using frameworks such as FastAPI or Flask.
• Deep experience designing and operating distributed systems, including APIs, services, and event-driven architectures (e.g., Azure Event Hub, Kafka) at enterprise scale.
• Strong expertise in cloud-native architectures, including containerized deployments using Azure, Docker, and Kubernetes, with an emphasis on resilience and observability.
• Advanced data engineering awareness, including extensive experience working with Databricks and Azure data ecosystems to support AI- and data-driven platforms.
• Proven experience designing and evolving CI/CD pipelines, automated testing strategies, release processes, and DevOps practices (e.g., Azure DevOps) across multiple teams or services.
• Strong command of testing and quality practices, including dependency management (e.g., Poetry), automated testing frameworks (e.g., Pytest), and system-level validation.
• Demonstrated ability to design systems with deep attention to performance, scalability, reliability, security, and operational excellence.
• Experience leading complex technical discussions, architectural reviews, and cross-team technical planning efforts.
• Exceptional communication skills, with the ability to explain complex technical concepts, trade-offs, and system designs to both technical and non-technical audiences.
• Comfort operating with high autonomy, accountability, and influence in ambiguous, high-impact problem spaces.
