Job Summary

As a Data Engineer V, you will lead the strategy and evolution of our enterprise data platform, helping shape how data is designed, managed, and delivered across Azure and Databricks environments. You’ll drive scalable, secure, and AI‑ready data solutions that power analytics, machine learning, and business decision‑making across the organization. In this highly influential role, you’ll establish engineering standards, define platform roadmaps, guide complex solution designs, and mentor senior engineers on advanced data architecture and design patterns. Working closely with technical and business leaders across global teams, you’ll ensure our data ecosystem remains innovative, reliable, and aligned with evolving business needs. Key Responsibilities

• (35%) Strategy & Standards Setting
  • Define enterprise data architecture standards, governance practices, and design patterns across lakehouse, streaming, and emerging data technologies.
  • Establish scalable, secure, and cost‑effective approaches for data platforms and integration solutions.
  • Align engineering practices with long‑term platform and business strategy.
  • Define architecture patterns for high‑volume, multi‑domain data platforms (e.g., large‑scale lakehouse environments and near real‑time pipelines).
• (25%) Architecture Leadership & Tooling Direction
  • Lead architecture decisions for complex, enterprise‑wide data initiatives.
  • Influence platform, tooling, and cloud‑native technology direction.
  • Drive modernization efforts and evolution of the enterprise data platform.
• (20%) Cross‑Domain Technical Leadership
  • Partner across teams to enable data sharing, interoperability, and governance.
  • Establish standards for data quality, lineage, access controls, and integration patterns.
  • Resolve cross‑domain architectural challenges and dependencies.
  • Define integration and governance patterns for batch and streaming data (e.g., event‑driven pipelines, schema evolution, and cross‑domain data sharing).

  • Mentor senior engineers and promote best practices in architecture and system design.
  • Develop reusable frameworks, standards, and reference solutions.
  • Foster engineering excellence through coaching and design reviews.

  • Communicate architectural direction, risks, and recommendations to stakeholders.
  • Represent engineering in strategic planning and governance discussions.
  • Ability to work on‑site in Bengaluru, India is a requirement of the role.

Mode of Working

This role follows a hybrid work model, with a primary base in Bengaluru. While on‑site presence is essential for key engagements, flexibility is offered for remote work based on business needs and team alignment.

Skills And Background You’ll Need

Education: A Bachelor’s degree in a technical field or equivalent experience is required. Graduate coursework in distributed systems or data engineering is preferred.
Experience: Typically requires a minimum of 12 years of related experience.
Architecture leadership experience or experience defining and building enterprise‑scale data pipelines and platform standards is preferred.
Preferred Certifications: Databricks Professional Data Engineer, Databricks Platform Architect, Azure Data Engineer Associate or Azure Solutions Architect Expert, TOGAF or CDMP certified.

• Deep expertise in distributed data systems, lakehouse architecture, and advanced data engineering.
• Strong architectural thinking with ability to design scalable, governed, and reusable data solutions.
• Mastery of Databricks, Azure ecosystem, streaming platforms, and vector/graph technologies.
• Strong understanding of distributed data processing frameworks (e.g., Spark) and their application in large‑scale data platforms.
• Experience guiding and reviewing complex data pipeline designs across multiple teams.
• Ability to influence technical direction across distributed and cross‑functional teams.
• Strong communication and stakeholder management skills across technical and business audiences.
• Exceptional systems thinking, long‑range planning, and decision‑making capabilities.
