Job Summary

The Standard India is seeking a Principal Engineer V to define enterprise-level architecture patterns, integration strategies, and platform roadmaps across cloud, API, data engineering, and AI domains while ensuring alignment with long‑term business and technology goals. You will provide deep technical leadership by guiding other engineers, conducting design reviews, and establishing engineering best practices, while also building prototypes and critical system components using modern programming languages and cloud-native technologies. The role includes researching and championing emerging technologies such as AI/ML, event driven systems, and DevOps tooling to drive digital transformation. In addition, the Principal Engineer collaborates closely with Product, Architecture, Security, Delivery, and Business teams to ensure end‑to‑end solution quality and oversees key technical deliverables including architecture documents, non‑functional requirements, CI/CD patterns, and operational runbooks.

• Ability to work on-site in Bengaluru, India is a requirement of the role.

Mode of Working

This role follows a hybrid work model, with a primary base in Bengaluru. While on-site presence is essential for key engagements, flexibility is offered for remote work based on business needs and team alignment.

Skills And Background You’ll Need

Education: A Bachelor's degree is required. A degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, Software Engineering, or a related discipline is preferred. Preferred Master’s degree in related tech field.

Experience

• 12+ years of progressive software engineering experience, including deep technical leadership.
• Demonstrated expertise in designing and delivering enterprise‑scale cloud, data, integration, or AI/ML systems.
• Strong understanding of SDLC, Agile delivery, and DevOps principles.
• Experience working with AI/ML pipelines and multi‑modal datasets.
• Prior Staff/Principal/Lead Engineer experience in enterprise environments.
• Expert knowledge of distributed systems, cloud architecture (Azure), API design, and data engineering patterns.
• Strong proficiency in modern programming languages (Python and Java) and event‑driven patterns.
• Deep expertise in DevOps practices, CI/CD automation, Kubernetes, and cloud networking.
• Advanced problem‑solving, systems thinking, and conceptual design abilities.
• Excellent communication skills with the ability to influence across technical and business teams.
• Preferred Azure/AWS/GCP Architecture Certification
