Job summary

Jobtailor is seeking a senior software engineer in Mumbai to design, code, and configure solutions for Agile stories with a focus on Java/.NET and Azure infrastructure. You will validate AI-assisted outputs for correctness and security while guiding teammates and maintaining code quality.

The role requires 6+ years in software development, strong OO design skills, and experience with CI/CD, Docker/Kubernetes, and Playwright/Pester for automated testing. Insurance domain knowledge is a plus.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science or related field.
• 6+ years software development experience; 4+ years in product/domain contexts.
• Expertise in OO design, Java/.NET, relational databases.
• Azure cloud, Terraform, Docker, Kubernetes experience.
• AI-assisted coding tools experience (GitHub Copilot, Claude Code).
• Insurance domain knowledge orDuck Creek knowledge preferred.

Responsibilities

• Assist with source code management decisions for one or more teams.
• Perform Git-based source code management tasks, including branching and PR hygiene.
• Perform other related duties as required.

Requirements

• Bachelor’s degree, or higher education level, or its foreign equivalent, in Computer Science, Computer Information Sciences, and/or related field
• Total work experience: 6+ years in software development; 4 years minimum
• Product experience: 2 years minimum; 4+ years preferred
• Domain experience: 2 years minimum; 4+ years preferred
• Expertise in object-oriented design, Java or .NET development, relational OLTP queries, and relational database design
• XML/XSLT document design, JavaScript/TypeScript development, HTML5, and CSS
• Working knowledge of cloud infrastructure fundamentals, preferably Azure
• Infrastructure-as-Code tooling such as Terraform
• Familiarity with Docker and Kubernetes
• Experience with CI/CD pipelines, Azure DevOps or equivalent, and automated testing frameworks such as Playwright or Pester
• Expertise in Duck Creek Policy, Billing, Claims, Engagement (AP), or Data Insights
• Practical experience using AI-assisted coding tools such as GitHub Copilot or Claude Code
• Ability to manage deadlines, communicate in a team, and operate independently with guidance
• Understanding of Agile software product development lifecycle estimation, analysis, and execution
• Insurance domain knowledge
