Job summary

Jobtailor in Mumbai or Bengaluru seeks a senior software engineer to design, code, and configure solutions for moderate-complexity Agile stories, and to drive quality with automated tests and robust CI/CD pipelines.

You will mentor junior engineers, lead in Azure cloud infrastructure and Duck Creek integrations, review AI-assisted contributions, and collaborate across teams to deliver reliable software while balancing deadlines.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree or higher in CS/related field.
• 6+ years software development experience; 10+ years total work experience.
• 2+ years leadership experience; 4+ years preferred.
• 4+ years product experience; 6+ years preferred.
• 4+ years domain experience; 6+ years preferred.
• Expert in OO design, Java or .NET development, relational DB design.
• Expert in XML/XSLT, JavaScript/TypeScript, HTML5, CSS.
• Strong knowledge of Azure, Terraform, Docker, Kubernetes.
• Expert in CI/CD pipelines and automated testing (Playwright/Pester).
• Experience with Duck Creek Policy/ Billing/ Claims / Data Insights; knowledge of Duck Creek Suite.
• Hands-on with AI-assisted coding tools; validate AI output for correctness and security.
• Ability to estimate, analyze, and execute Agile software product lifecycle.

Responsibilities

• Design, code, and configure solutions for moderate-complexity Agile stories

• Write automated unit, integration, and end-to-end tests using modern test automation frameworks
• Design and implement Infrastructure-as-Code and CI/CD pipeline changes for Azure cloud deployments

• Provide guidance and mentoring to junior software engineers, including responsible use of AI-assisted development tools

Requirements

• Bachelor’s degree or higher education level, or foreign equivalent, in Computer Science, Computer Information Sciences, and/or related field
• 6 years minimum of software development experience; posting also states 10+ years total work experience

• 4 years minimum product experience; 6 years preferred
• 4 years minimum domain experience; 6 years preferred
• Expert in object-oriented design, Java or .NET development, relational OLTP queries, and relational database design
• Expert in XML/XSLT document design, JavaScript/TypeScript development, HTML5, and CSS
• Strong working knowledge of Azure cloud infrastructure, Terraform, Docker, and Kubernetes
• Expert in CI/CD pipelines, Azure DevOps or equivalent, and automated testing frameworks such as Playwright or Pester
• Expert in Duck Creek Policy, Billing, Claims, Engagement (AP), or Data Insights
• Understanding of all applications in the Duck Creek Suite
• Hands-on experience using AI-assisted coding tools such as GitHub Copilot or Claude Code
• Ability to independently validate AI-generated output for correctness, security, and maintainability
• Expertise in Agile Software Product Development Lifecycle estimation, analysis, and execution
• Insurance domain knowledge
• Ability to manage deadlines, communicate in a team, and operate independently with guidance
• Must reside within reasonable proximity to the designated Mumbai or Bengaluru location
