Job summary

Purview Services is seeking an experienced IBM iSeries developer to design, develop, and maintain applications on AS/400. You will work on RPG/RPGLE/RPG IV, CL/CLLE, and DB2 for i to meet business needs.

The role involves troubleshooting, production support, and collaboration with analysts and other developers to drive migration and modernization initiatives while ensuring robust documentation and code quality.

Qualifications

• 6-9 years of experience in IBM iSeries / AS400 development.
• Hands-on RPGLE / RPG IV development experience.
• Knowledge of CL/CLLE, DB2 for i, SQL, and IBM i.
• Experience with DDS, ILE concepts, subfiles, job queues, and batch processing.

Job Summary:
Responsible for designing, developing, maintaining, and enhancing applications on the IBM iSeries (AS/400) platform. The role involves RPG programming, database development, application support, troubleshooting, and integration with business systems.

Key Responsibilities:

• Develop, maintain, and enhance applications on the IBM iSeries / AS/400 platform.
• Write and maintain programs using RPG / RPGLE / RPG IV.
• Develop and optimize applications using CL/CLLE and SQL.
• Work with DB2 for i for database design, queries, stored procedures, and data management.
• Analyze business requirements and translate them into technical solutions.
• Perform application enhancements, bug fixing, debugging, and production support.
• Develop and maintain batch jobs, interfaces, reports, and system utilities.
• Troubleshoot application and database issues and perform root-cause analysis.
• Support integration of iSeries applications with external systems and APIs.
• Perform code reviews, testing, deployment, and documentation.
• Monitor application performance and identify opportunities for optimization.
• Collaborate with business analysts, functional teams, and other developers.
• Participate in migration, modernization, and application upgrade initiatives.
• Prepare technical documentation, program specifications, and support procedures.
