Job summary

Purview Services seeks an experienced IBM iSeries RPG developer to design, develop, and maintain applications on AS/400. You will work on RPG/RPGLE/RPG IV, CL/CLLE, and DB2 for i to deliver robust solutions for business systems.

You will analyze requirements, implement enhancements, support production systems, and collaborate with cross-functional teams to ensure high performance and reliability of batch jobs, interfaces, and data workflows in a dynamic environment in Surat, India.

Qualifications

• 6-9 years of experience in IBM iSeries / AS400 development.
• Strong hands-on experience with RPGLE / RPG IV.
• Good knowledge of CL/CLLE, DB2 for i, SQL, and IBM i.
• Experience with IBM i development tools and debugging utilities.
• Knowledge of DDS, ILE concepts, subfiles, job queues, and batch processing.
• Experience in application maintenance, production support, and troubleshooting.

Responsibilities

• Develop, maintain, and enhance IBM iSeries/AS400 applications.
• Write programs using RPG/RPGLE/RPG IV.
• Develop and optimize CL/CLLE, SQL, and DB2 for i solutions.
• Work with DB2 for i for database design, queries, stored procedures, and data management.
• Analyze business requirements and translate them into technical solutions.
• Perform application enhancements, bug fixing, debugging, and production support.
• Develop and maintain batch jobs, interfaces, reports, and system utilities.
• Troubleshoot application and database issues and perform root-cause analysis.
• Support integration of iSeries applications with external systems and APIs.
• Perform code reviews, testing, deployment, and documentation.
• Monitor application performance and identify opportunities for optimization.
• Collaborate with business analysts, functional teams, and other developers.
• Participate in migration, modernization, and application upgrade initiatives.
