Job summary

SYSTRA India is seeking a Socio-Economic Expert for an upcoming urban planning project. You will lead socio-economic profiling, design surveys, and provide inputs for master and development plans.

The role requires extensive experience and strong expertise in demographic analysis and population forecasting, with a postgraduate degree in relevant fields.

Qualifications

• Minimum 10 years of professional experience in socio-economic studies and field surveys.
• Post graduate degree in Statistics, Sociology, Economics, Geography or Demography.
• Strong knowledge of survey techniques and socio-economic research methods.
• Expertise in demographic analysis and population forecasting.

Responsibilities

• Conduct socio-economic profiling of the project area.
• Analyze social and economic development indicators to support planning.
• Design and implement household surveys, socio-economic surveys, and stakeholder consultations.
• Develop survey methodologies, questionnaires, and sampling framework.
• Analyze population trends, growth patterns, migration characteristics, and demographic structures.
• Prepare population projections and demographic forecasts.
• Provide socio-economic inputs for preparation of Master Plans, Development Plans, Regional Plans, and Urban Development Strategies.
• Support land use planning, housing assessments, livelihood studies, and infrastructure planning through socio-economic analysis.

• Conduct socio-economic profiling of the project area, including population characteristics, employment patterns, income levels, housing conditions, education, and social infrastructure.
• Analyze social and economic development indicators to support planning interventions.
• Design and implement household surveys, socio-economic surveys, and stakeholder consultations.
• Develop survey methodologies, questionnaires, and sampling framework.
• Analyze population trends, growth patterns, migration characteristics, and demographic structures.
• Prepare population projections and demographic forecasts.
• Provide socio-economic inputs for preparation of Master Plans, Development Plans, Regional Plans, and Urban Development Strategies.
• Support land use planning, housing assessments, livelihood studies, and infrastructure planning through socio-economic analysis.

Profile/Skills
