Job summary

SYSTRA India is seeking a GIS Expert for upcoming urban planning projects. The role focuses on developing and maintaining geospatial databases, integrating datasets, and performing land use and transport analyses.

Applicants should have 10+ years in GIS, a PG diploma in relevant field, and strong proficiency in ArcGIS, QGIS, ERDAS Imagine, and ArcGIS Pro. This on-site opportunity invites you to contribute to city-scale planning and visualization outputs.

Qualifications

• Minimum 10 years of professional experience in GIS, Remote Sensing, and geospatial data analysis.
• Post Graduate Degree or Diploma in Remote Sensing, Geographic Information Systems (GIS), Geoinformatics, or equivalent from a recognized institution.
• Strong proficiency in ArcGIS, QGIS, ERDAS Imagine, ArcGIS Pro, or similar GIS software.
• Expertise in Remote Sensing, spatial analysis, geodatabase management, and GIS modelling.
• Knowledge of urban planning and land use planning concepts.

Responsibilities

• Develop, maintain, and update geospatial databases for urban planning projects.
• Integrate spatial and non-spatial datasets from multiple sources.
• Conduct spatial analysis related to land use, transportation, infrastructure, environmental resources, demographics, and urban growth.
• Prepare thematic maps, spatial models, and analytical outputs to support planning studies.
• Process and analyze satellite imagery, aerial photographs, and other remote sensing datasets.
• Perform image interpretation, change detection analysis, and land use/land cover mapping.
• Coordinate integration of GPS, drone survey, field survey, and cadastral data into GIS platforms.
• Prepare GIS-based presentations, dashboards, maps, and visualizations for stakeholders.
• Contribute to technical reports, planning documents, and project deliverables.
