Job summary

SYSTRA is seeking a Transport Planner for India with a strong background in GIS-based analysis and multimodal transport planning. You will lead projects, collaborate with cross-functional teams, and prepare reports for public consultations and authorities.

Ideal candidates have at least 10 years of experience and have managed multiple town-scale transport planning efforts, delivering robust, data-driven recommendations for mobility improvements.

Qualifications

• Masters in Transport Planning or equivalent.
• 10 years’ experience in transport planning or related field.
• Led at least 2 transport planning projects for towns/cities.

Responsibilities

• Analyse existing transportation networks using GIS tools and recommend improvements.
• Develop multimodal transport strategies integrating road, transit, pedestrian, and cycling infrastructure.
• Conduct accessibility and mobility assessments using spatial data and modelling tools.
• Collaborate with GIS teams to visualise transport scenarios and simulate future demand.
• Prepare technical reports, maps and presentations for stakeholders and public consultations.
• Ensure alignment of transport planning with national and regional development policies.
• Support integration of transport data into the Master Plan framework.

Currently, we are bidding for Urban Planning projects across India. The position of Tranport Planner is the key position in these BIDs.

Missions/Main Duties

• Analyse existing transportation networks using GIS tools and recommend improvements based on traffic patterns, land use, and projected growth.
• Develop multimodal transport strategies that integrate road, public transit, pedestrian, and cycling infrastructure.
• Conduct accessibility and mobility assessments using spatial data and modelling tools.
• Collaborate with GIS teams to visualise transport scenarios and simulate future demand.
• Prepare technical reports, maps, and presentations for stakeholders and public consultations.
• Ensure alignment of transport planning with national and regional development policies.
• Support the integration of transport data into the broader Master Plan framework

Profile/Skills

• Masters in Transport Planning or equivalent
• He/She should 10 years’ experience
• He/She should have handled at least 2 transport planning based projects for any town/city.
