Job summary

SYSTRA is seeking an experienced Utility Expert for an upcoming urban planning project in India. The role focuses on preparing and reviewing infrastructure plans, assessing existing facilities, and forecasting future demand to support city-scale development.

Ideal candidates bring 10+ years in infrastructure planning, advanced degrees in civil/urban planning, and a strong grasp of water, sewerage, drainage, solid waste, and power infrastructure planning. On-site work in West Bengal is required.

Qualifications

• Minimum 10 years of professional experience in infrastructure planning and development projects.
• Graduate Degree in Civil Engineering from a recognized institution.
• Post Graduate Degree in Urban Planning, Town Planning, City Planning, Regional Planning, Infrastructure Planning, or equivalent.
• Strong understanding of urban utility and infrastructure systems.
• Knowledge of water supply, sewerage, drainage, solid waste management, and power infrastructure planning.

Responsibilities

• Prepare and review infrastructure plans for urban and regional development projects.
• Assess existing infrastructure and utility facilities and identify gaps in service delivery
• Estimate current and future infrastructure demands based on population growth, land use patterns, and development scenarios.
• Prepare utility demand projections and infrastructure investment strategies.
• Recommend phased development and implementation plans.
• Coordinate infrastructure planning with land use planning and development strategies.
• Ensure alignment of utility proposals with Master Plans, Development Plans, and Regional Plans.
