Job summary

Millennium Developers is seeking a technically sound Civil Site Engineer to supervise waterproofing and finishing activities at a residential/commercial project site. You will ensure compliance with drawings and specifications, maintain quality, coordinate with contractors and labour, and drive timely completion.

The role requires 1–8 years of hands-on experience in waterproofing and finishing works, with Diploma/B.E./B.Tech in Civil Engineering.

Qualifications

• Diploma/B.E./B.Tech in Civil Engineering is required.
• 1–8 years of experience in residential/commercial real estate construction.
• Hands-on waterproofing and finishing works experience.
• Ability to manage contractors and labour on site.

Responsibilities

• Waterproofing Works: supervise waterproofing activities and ensure surface prep, materials and testing.
• Finishing Works: supervise plastering, tiling, flooring, painting, doors/windows per drawings and quality standards.
• Contractor & Labour Management: allocate work, monitor productivity, ensure adequate manpower.
• Quality Control: ensure work per approved specs and method statements; coordinate QA/QC inspections.
• Material Management: coordinate with Store and Purchase for timely availability; minimize wastage.
• Site Coordination: liaise with PMs, engineers, architects; resolve site issues; avoid delays.
• Progress Monitoring: prepare daily progress reports; track targets and timelines; flag delays.
• Safety Compliance: enforce PPE and safety procedures; coordinate with Safety Officer.

Job Summary

The Site Engineer will be responsible for managing and supervising waterproofing and finishing activities at the construction site. The role involves ensuring proper execution as per approved drawings and specifications, maintaining quality standards, coordinating with contractors and labour teams, and ensuring timely completion of assigned activities.

Key Roles & Responsibilities

1. Waterproofing Works

• Supervise all types of waterproofing activities at the project site.
• Handle waterproofing works for toilets, terraces, balconies, basements, podiums, water tanks, wet areas, and external areas.
• Ensure proper surface preparation before waterproofing application.
• Monitor application of waterproofing chemicals/membranes as per manufacturer's specifications.
• Conduct water ponding tests and ensure proper rectification of leakage issues.
• Identify waterproofing defects and coordinate corrective actions.
• Ensure proper documentation of waterproofing inspections and testing.

2. Finishing Works

• Supervise finishing activities including plastering, tiling, flooring, painting, gypsum, putty, doors, windows, and other finishing works.
• Ensure finishing work is executed as per approved drawings, specifications, and quality standards.
• Check levels, line, alignment, dimensions, and workmanship.
• Conduct regular inspections and ensure timely rectification of defects and snags.

3. Contractor & Labour Management

• Coordinate with waterproofing and finishing contractors.
• Allocate work and monitor daily productivity.
• Ensure adequate manpower is available to meet project schedules.
• Monitor contractor performance and workmanship.
• Ensure proper coordination between different agencies working at the site.

4. Quality Control

• Ensure work is executed according to approved specifications and method statements.
• Conduct regular quality inspections.
• Identify quality issues and ensure corrective measures are completed.
• Coordinate with the QA/QC team for inspections and approvals.

5. Material Management

• Coordinate with the Store and Purchase teams for timely availability of waterproofing and finishing materials.
• Check material quality and quantity received at the site.
• Monitor material consumption and minimize wastage.
• Ensure proper storage and handling of materials.

6. Site Coordination

• Coordinate with Project Managers, Senior Engineers, Architects, Consultants, Contractors, and other departments.
• Resolve site-level technical and execution issues.
• Ensure work fronts are available as per the planned schedule.
• Coordinate activities to avoid delays and rework.

7. Progress Monitoring

• Prepare daily progress reports for waterproofing and finishing activities.
• Monitor work against planned targets and timelines.
• Highlight delays, material requirements, manpower shortages, and technical issues to the reporting manager.
• Ensure timely completion of assigned work.

8. Safety Compliance

• Ensure contractors and workers follow site safety procedures.
• Ensure appropriate PPE is used during waterproofing and finishing activities.
• Report unsafe conditions and practices immediately.
• Coordinate with the Safety Officer for safe execution of work.
