The role requires a Bachelor's degree in Civil Engineering or related field and at least 3 years of hands-on finishing experience in real estate projects.

Responsibilities

• Track material usage and labour productivity for cost control.
• Address defects or snagging before final handover.

Job Overview:

We are seeking an experienced and detail-oriented Civil/Site Engineer with experience in the real estate industry to join our team. As a Civil/Site Engineer, you will play a key role in ensuring the quality and timely completion of finishing works on construction projects. Your expertise in handling the final stages of construction, managing quality standards, and coordinating various finishing trades will be crucial to the successful delivery of residential, commercial, or mixed-use developments.

You will be responsible for overseeing all aspects of the finishing phase, from inspections and material selection to coordinating labor and ensuring that work aligns with design specifications and safety regulations.

Key Responsibilities:

• Oversee and inspect all finishing works, including plastering, painting, flooring, ceiling installation, tiling, and external works to ensure compliance with project specifications and quality standards.
• Conduct regular site inspections to ensure finishing works meet or exceed the desired quality, aesthetics, and safety requirements.
• Lead and manage finishing subcontractors, ensuring that work progresses according to the project timeline and budget.
• Act as the main point of contact for all finishing-related concerns on-site, coordinating between subcontractors, suppliers, and other project team members.
• Coordinate with other departments (e.g., MEP engineers, structural teams) to address any finishing-related issues or conflicts.
• Ensure that all work is completed in compliance with local building codes, regulations, and industry standards.
• Oversee the procurement and handling of materials required for finishing work, ensuring quality, timely availability, and cost-effectiveness.
• Prepare and maintain detailed reports on the progress of finishing works, including daily logs, progress updates, and any challenges encountered.
• Track material usage and labour productivity, providing insights for cost control and resource optimization.
• Enforce adherence to all safety protocols and regulations during the finishing phase of the construction.
• Ensure that all finishing work is completed in time for the project handover to the client.
• Ensure all defects or snagging issues are addressed and rectified promptly before final handover.
• Assist with the final inspection process and documentation for project closure.

Qualifications & Requirements:

• Bachelors degree in Civil Engineering, Construction Management, or a related field.
• Certification or specialization in construction/finishing works is a plus.
• Minimum of 3 years of experience as a Civil Finishing Engineer or similar role within the real estate industry, with a strong track record of overseeing finishing works on residential, commercial, or mixed-use projects.
• Experience with high-rise building projects, luxury residential developments, or commercial projects is highly preferred.
• Certifications in Project Management (e.g., PMP), Site Management (e.g., SMSTS), or health and safety (e.g., NEBOSH) would be advantageous.
