Job summary

Contactx Resource Management in Hyderabad seeks an experienced ServiceNow Discovery & Service Mapping specialist to implement and support discovery across on-premises and cloud environments.

You will develop and maintain MID Servers, schedules, and credentials, troubleshoot discovery issues, optimize patterns, and ensure CMDB data quality with IRE rules.

The role requires strong scripting in JavaScript, knowledge of Glide APIs, and familiarity with AWS/Azure/GCP discovery and container platforms.

Qualifications

• Hands-on experience with ServiceNow Discovery & Service Mapping.
• Strong scripting skills in JavaScript.
• Experience with MID Server setup and troubleshooting.
• Familiarity with IRE and reconciliation rules.
• Understanding of CMDB data model and CI relationships.

Responsibilities

• Discovery Implementation & Support for on-prem and cloud environments.
• Configure and manage ServiceNow Discovery for on-prem and cloud environments.
• Develop and maintain MID Servers, schedules, and credentials.
• Troubleshoot discovery issues (classification, identification, exploration errors).
• Optimize discovery patterns and probes for performance and accuracy.
• Service Mapping Development and top-down/horizontal discovery.
• Create and maintain Business Service Maps with accurate CI relationships.
• Develop and customize patterns for application/service discovery.
• Handle complex multi-tier applications (web, app, DB layers).
• Pattern & Probe Development: Build and customize Discovery Patterns, probes, and sensors.
• Work with scripting (JavaScript) for advanced pattern logic.
• Debug pattern failures using logs and ECC queue.
• CMDB Integration & Data Quality: Ensure discovered data aligns with CMDB standards.
• Work with Identification and Reconciliation Engine (IRE).
• Maintain CI class models and relationships in cmdb_ci and cmdb_rel_ci.
• Improve CMDB health (completeness, correctness, compliance).
• Cloud & Modern Infrastructure: Implement discovery for cloud platforms (AWS, Azure, GCP).
• Work with containerized environments (Kubernetes, Docker) where applicable.
• Integrate with external tools (monitoring, asset systems).
• Performance & Optimization: Tune discovery schedules and reduce scan time.
• Optimize MID Server performance and load balancing.
• Identify and eliminate duplicate CI creation.
• Collaboration & Support: Work with infrastructure, network, and application teams.
• Provide L3 support for Discovery and Service Mapping issues.
