Role Overview

The purpose of the Solution Architect is to design and communicate technology solutions with architectural significance that deliver key outcomes or epics. They create the designs to meet quality, resilience, and technical objectives and contribute to forward-look solution architecture.

Responsibilities

• Takes responsibility for delivering a prescribed budget for own area of the organisation and conducts complex analyses on budget progress in other areas while working within established systems.
• Highlights shortcomings and suggests improvements in current compliance processes, systems, and procedures within the assigned unit and/or discipline.
• Grows own capabilities by pursuing personal development opportunities and develops the capabilities of direct reports by providing specialised training or coaching in areas of expertise.
• Identifies shortcomings, then suggests and implements improvements to existing business practices while delivering projects or a workstream within the organisation’s change management programme.
• Explores issues and/or needs to establish potential causes, related issues, and barriers; analyzes and evaluates feasibility of proposals for complex products or services and develops and amends them as necessary.
• Helps management implement quality assurance change initiatives or continuous operational improvements.
• Recommends ways to improve support for operations by changing policies, processes, standards, and practices.
• Delivers prescribed outcomes for a designated area using risk management systems to ensure the organisation is not exposed to undue risks.
• Develops and/or delivers elements of a strategic planning system with guidance from senior colleagues.
• Writes and edits materials for a variety of target populations, tailoring tone and content to match expectations of each audience.
