About the Role:
SNPJ is a Tier-1 OEM supplier of precision components to the 2W/3W automotive industry. We are hiring a Senior Quality Engineer to own quality assurance across our stamping, paint, and printing operations: from incoming material to final dispatch, and from customer complaint to permanent corrective action.
Key Responsibilities:
- Own in-process and final inspection systems per the Control Plan; ensure first-piece, patrol, and last-piece approvals are done as defined
- Lead customer complaint handling using 8D, 5-Why, and fishbone methods; drive corrective and preventive action to on-time closure
- Prepare and submit PPAP, and support APQP activities for new component development (PFMEA, Control Plan, MSA, SPC, dimensional layout reports)
- Monitor in-house rejection and customer PPM by part family; analyse trends and drive reduction targets
- Oversee measurement system integrity: gauge calibration, MSA studies, and CMM/VMM/profile projector inspection of thin-gauge precision parts
- Verify coating and printing quality: film thickness, adhesion, appearance, and print quality as per customer specifications
- Manage incoming material inspection and supplier quality, including raw material test certificate verification and supplier corrective action
- Conduct internal audits, process audits, and layout inspections; support customer and IATF 16949 audits
- Coach Quality Inspectors and Production Supervisors on inspection standards, defect recognition, and quality discipline on the shop floor
- Prepare monthly quality MIS: rejection data, customer PPM, CAPA status, and audit findings
Required Skills:
- Quality assurance in a sheet metal stamping / press shop environment
- Working knowledge of IATF 16949, APQP, PPAP, FMEA, Control Plan, MSA, and SPC
- Structured problem solving: 8D, 5-Why, fishbone, Pareto
- Reading and interpreting engineering drawings and GD&T
- Hands-on use of precision measuring instruments and CMM/VMM
- Strong Excel skills for quality data analysis and reporting
Preferred:
- Exposure to paint/coating or printing quality
- Experience with thin-gauge or precision stamped components
- Internal Auditor certification (IATF 16949 / ISO 9001)
Education:
Diploma/B.E./B.Tech (Mechanical/Production/Automobile/Industrial Engineering)
Experience:
5-8 years in quality assurance in automotive component manufacturing
Other Requirements:
- Must be willing to work in rotational shifts, including night shifts
- Hands-on shop-floor role, comfortable working with data and escalating deviations directly
