Job summary

Lead Hr Services is seeking a Quality Engineer in Sriperumbudur to monitor and control product quality throughout manufacturing and ensure compliance with customer and company requirements.

Qualifications

Responsibilities

• Monitor and control product quality throughout manufacturing to meet requirements.
• Investigate customer complaints and process issues using RCA and implement corrective actions.
• Develop, maintain, and update quality documents (Control Plans, PFMEA, SOPs, Work Instructions, Inspection Standards, PPAP).
• Conduct process, product, and system audits to ensure compliance with IATF 16949, ISO 9001, and customer requirements.
• Drive quality improvements using Kaizen, Poka-Yoke, SPC, MSA, and other tools.
• Coordinate with Production, Process Engineering, and Supplier Quality teams to resolve issues.
• Ensure proper use and calibration of measuring instruments (Vernier Calipers, Micrometers, Height Gauges, Profile Projectors, CMM).
• Analyze quality data, prepare reports, track KPIs, and support scrap reduction and OEE initiatives

Roles and Responsiblities

• Monitor and control product quality throughout the manufacturing process to ensure compliance with customer and company requirements.
• Investigate customer complaints, in-house rejections, and process issues using Root Cause Analysis (RCA) and implement corrective and preventive actions.
• Develop, maintain, and update quality documents including Control Plans, PFMEA, SOPs, Work Instructions, Inspection Standards, and PPAP documents.
• Conduct process, product, and system audits to ensure compliance with IATF 16949, ISO 9001, and customer-specific requirements.
• Drive quality improvement initiatives through Kaizen, Poka-Yoke, SPC, MSA, and other continuous improvement tools to reduce defects and improve process capability.
• Coordinate with Production, Process Engineering, and Supplier Quality teams to resolve quality issues and improve product performance.
• Ensure proper use and calibration of measuring instruments such as Vernier Callipers, Micrometres, Height Gauges, Profile Projectors, and CMM.
• Analyse quality data, prepare reports, track KPIs, and support activities related to scrap reduction, customer satisfaction, and OEE improvement.

Skills Required

• Strong knowledge of Quality Tools (7 QC Tools, RCA, CAPA, SPC, MSA)
• Experience in PFMEA, Control Plan, PPAP, and APQP
• Understanding of GD&T and Engineering Drawings
• Knowledge of Welding and Fabrication Quality Requirements
• Internal Audit and Customer Audit Handling Experience
