Job summary

HYT Engineering in Pune is seeking a Senior General Manager of Design & Development to lead the design and development of advanced machine tools, including CNC lathes, VMCs, milling, and grinding systems.

You will also steer the development of automated machining lines and related auxiliaries, focusing on innovation, engineering excellence, cost optimization, and quality improvements to meet project timelines.

Qualifications

• Experience in machine tool design including CNC lathes, VMCs, turning centers, grinders, and SPMs.
• Proficiency with CAD/CAE tools such as SolidWorks, AutoCAD, Creo, and CATIA; knowledge of GD&T and PFMEA/DFMEA.
• Experience in interpreting machine tool designs, BOMs, and mechanical design engineering; 25+ years in leadership roles.

Responsibilities

• Lead design and development of CNC lathes, VMCs, milling, grinding, turning, boring, and surface grinding machines.
• Develop automated machining lines and auxiliary equipment.
• Drive innovation, engineering excellence, cost optimization, and quality improvement for timely new product development.

Role & responsibilities

The Senior General Manager of Design & Development is responsible for the machine tool and auxiliary equipment designing, developing, validating, and continuously improving advanced machine tools including CNC Lathes, VMC, Milling, Grinding, Turning, Boring, Surface Grinding, and Axle Journal Turning & Burnishing machines. Work also includes development of Automated Machining Lines and auxiliary equipment's. The role is responsible for innovation, product development, engineering excellence, cost optimization, quality improvement, and timely development of new products as per project requirements for HYT Engineering

Preferred candidate profile

• Experience in Machine Tool Design such as CNC Lathes, VMC, Turning Centers, Boring Machines, Grinding Machines, and Special Purpose Machines (SPMs), Automation, multi product, material selection, EU standards, Heat treatment & S Axis Machines etc.
• Proficiency in SolidWorks, AutoCAD, Creo, CATIA, AutoCAD), GD&T, DFMEA/PFMEA, Hydraulic & Pneumatic Systems, Material Selection, Railway Machinery etc.
• Ability to interpret Machine Tool Design, BOMs, technical specifications & Mechanical Design Engineering
• Minimum 25+ years in a leadership role Design & Development functions.
