Job summary

Suspa Pneumatics India in Tamil Nadu seeks a senior mechanical design lead to own end-to-end product development from concept to production release. Job description

Role & responsibilities

• Lead end-to-end mechanical design and development of new products from concept, prototyping, validation, and production release
• Translate customer, market, and regulatory requirements into robust mechanical designs
• Develop system architecture, detailed designs, 3D models, drawings, and specifications
• Conduct design reviews, risk assessments (DFMEA), and engineering analyses
• Oversee prototyping, testing, validation, and design verification activities

Leadership & Project Management

• Act as technical lead for NPD projects, coordinating with R&D, manufacturing, quality, procurement, and marketing teams
• Drive project schedules, budgets, and milestones to ensure on-time delivery
• Mentor and guide junior engineers and technical staff
• Support supplier development, technical evaluations, and vendor qualification

Manufacturing & Quality

• Ensure designs are optimized for manufacturability, assembly, reliability, and cost (DFMA)
• Support pilot production, tooling development, and production ramp-up
• Collaborate with quality teams to resolve design-related issues and implement corrective actions
• Ensure compliance with industry standards, safety regulations, and company quality systems

Innovation & Continuous Improvement

• Identify opportunities for product innovation, cost reduction, and performance improvement
• Stay updated on emerging technologies, materials, and manufacturing processes
• Drive continuous improvement in engineering processes, documentation, and best practices
