Job summary

Qualifications

• Proficiency in SolidWorks with strong 3D modelling and 2D drafting skills (essential).
• Background in Machine Tools Design (Grinding Machines) preferred.
• Detail-oriented with ability to manage multiple projects simultaneously.

Responsibilities

• Develop design concepts and models based on requirements.
• Create and optimize machine models and mechanical components, including bought-out items and related calculations.
• Prepare and maintain accurate Bills of Materials (BOM) for projects.
• Provide detailed assembly drawings and support assembly team with technical queries.
• Collaborate with cross-functional teams to clarify design requirements.
• Document machine specifications and develop mechanical manuals.
• Assist in creating proposals and concepts for new inquiries.
• Update design drawings based on change requests and feedback.
• Conduct part inspections and quality checks as needed.
• Travel to customer sites to gather insights and provide design clarifications.
• Supervise deputation team as required.
• Offer technical support to fellow design engineers.

The engineer will provide support to assembly teams, assist with customer clarifications, and oversee project documentation. Proficiency in SolidWorks and a background in machine design are essential. The ideal candidate should be detail-oriented, creative, and able to handle multiple projects efficiently.

Key Responsibilities

• 1. Develop design concepts and models based on requirements.

• 8. Update and revise design drawings based on change requests and feedback.
• 9. Conduct part inspections and quality checks as needed.
• 10. Travel to customer sites to gather insights, discuss concepts, and provide design clarifications.
• 11. Supervise and provide guidance to the deputation team as required.

Preferred Candidate Profile

Educational Background

Degree in Mechanical Engineering or related field, with a background in Machine Tools Design (Grinding Machines) preferred.

Technical Skills

• Proficiency in SolidWorks with strong 3D modelling and 2D drafting skills (essential).
• Basic knowledge of AutoCAD or other 2D CAD software.
• Knowledge of simulation tools (advantageous).
• Proficiency in MS Office (Word, Excel, PowerPoint) for documentation and presentations.

Other Skills

• Effective team handling experience (advantageous).
• Strong communication skills for effective collaboration with cross-functional teams.
