Job summary

JobItUs in Kolkata is seeking a Senior Manager Design to lead the design team and drive machine design across heavy hydraulic equipment. The role requires deep CAD expertise, strong collaboration with cross-functional teams, and safety-compliant design practices.

The candidate will oversee 8-10 design engineers, ensure timely delivery of robust designs, and guide selection of manufacturing processes. Excellent communication in English and leadership capabilities are essential.

Qualifications

• B.Tech / B.E Mechanical (mandatory).
• Strong knowledge of construction equipment and manufacturing & assembly processes.
• Able to read engineering drawings using CAD tools including AutoCAD, Revit, SolidWorks.
• Proficiency in Excel, ODOO and ERP or relevant software.

Responsibilities

• Develop machine designs using SolidWorks & AutoCAD Mechanical.
• Calculations & Design / BOM Preparation.
• Collaborate with cross-functional teams on various heavy machinery and hydraulics projects.
• Review inputs from clients to understand scope and plan work without changing design intent.
• Provide regular work status updates, including risks or concerns to Discipline Lead/Project Manager/Project Lead.
• Ensure compliance with industry standards during the design process.
• Review vendor drawings and ensure compliance with site layout.
• AutoCAD, Revit, SolidWorks (or similar CAD tools).
• Design and develop new products ensuring innovative and cost-effective solutions.
• Strong engineering design skills including Machine Design and Strength of Materials.
• Assist in the development and testing of prototypes for new designs and technologies.
• Familiarity with manufacturing processes including machining, welding, grinding, plating, painting and heat treatments.
• Preferred experience in the hydraulic industry.
• Manage a team of 8-10 Design Engineers.

Job Responsibilities
