Job summary

Cognex Corporation seeks a seasoned Fleet Manager to oversee its European vehicle fleet (~200 vehicles across 18+ countries). The role blends hands-on operations with cost control, supplier management, and policy ownership to ensure efficient, accurate, and cost-effective fleet operations.

You will drive end-to-end lifecycle management, validate invoices, and collaborate with finance, payroll, and AP teams to ensure compliant and timely processing across multiple countries.

Qualifications

• Experience in end-to-end fleet management and lifecycle ownership.
• Strong cost control and invoice validation capabilities.
• Experience with supplier contracts and multinational stakeholder coordination.

Responsibilities

• Manage full vehicle lifecycle from order to return, including renewals and inspections.
• Act as primary contact for drivers and fleet suppliers, handling queries and issues.
• Maintain accurate fleet records, contracts, and vehicle data aligned with finance and payroll systems.
• Manage relationships with leasing and rental providers to meet terms and SLAs.
• Own review, validation, and approval of all fleet supplier invoices with accuracy.
• Partner with Accounts Payable to resolve discrepancies and ensure timely payments.
• Maintain and reconcile fleet cost data supporting budgeting and forecasting.
• Identify cost trends and drive cost control and savings initiatives.
• Own and maintain the European Fleet Policy, ensuring compliance.
• Ensure data accuracy and reporting on fleet cost, usage, and performance across countries.

Job description

Responsible for the end-to-end management of Cognex’s European vehicle fleet (~200 vehicles across 18+ countries), combining hands-on operations with ownership of cost, suppliers, policy, and performance. The role ensures the fleet is managed efficiently, accurately, and cost-effectively, with strong financial control.

Key Responsibilities

• Manage the full vehicle lifecycle (order → delivery → in-life management → return), including orders, renewals, returns, inspections, and damage handling
• Act as the primary point of contact for drivers and fleet suppliers, managing all queries and issues
• Maintain accurate fleet records, contracts, and vehicle data, ensuring alignment with financial and payroll systems
• Manage relationships with leasing and rental providers (e.g. ALD Automotive, Arval), ensuring delivery in line with agreed terms and service levels
• Own the review, validation, and approval of all fleet supplier invoices, ensuring:
  • -Accuracy against contracted rates
  • -Correct application of lease, damage, and service charges
  • -Proper coding to cost centres and GL accounts
• Partner with Accounts Payable to resolve discrepancies and ensure timely processing and payment
• Maintain and reconcile fleet cost data (leases, damages, usage), supporting budgeting, forecasting, and cost tracking
• Identify cost trends and drive cost control and savings initiatives
• Own and maintain the European Fleet Policy, ensuring compliance and alignment with business needs
• Ensure data accuracy and reporting on fleet cost, usage, and performance across countries
