Job summary

Responsibilities

• Maintain and upkeep of the process control system (DCS, PLC, field instruments) per guidelines.
• Maintain proper maintenance schedule for all critical process control & monitoring systems.
• Check health of the communication topology (Profibus DP & Profinet) and take corrective action.
• Hands-on experience of ABB DCS & PLC systems.
• Understand network topology and use various monitoring & measuring instrumentation (level, flow, temperature, pressure, weighing).
• Spares management: maintain adequate inventory and budgeting vs actual spend.
• People management: guide team, address grievances, review performance.
• Vendor management: coordinate with vendors for procurement and alternative solutions at reasonable cost.
• Software troubleshooting for DCS/PLC applications; support new automation initiatives (Enterprise Asset Management, efficiency tools).

Job Description:

• Maintenance and upkeep of the process control System:-
• Maintaining proper maintenance schedule for all critical process control & monitoring system DCS, PLC & Field Instrument and ensure the proper and timely maintenance activities as per standard guidelines
• Co-ordination for any planned downtime Checking the health of the communication topology Profibus DP & Profinet and taking necessary actions
• Hands on experience of ABB DCS & PLC system
• Basic understanding of communication topology or network Hands on experience of various type of monitoring & measuring instrumentationLevel, Flow, Temperature, Pressure, Weighing system
• Spares Management:- Maintaining adequate inventory of spares and consumables towards Instrumentation asset Ensuring proper budgeting Actual vs budget Timeliness
• People Management:- Direct & guide team members counsel workmen & address grievances Review performance in order to build a motivated team & a performance oriented work culture
• Vendor Management:-Co-ordination with various instrumentation Vendors for procuring material, services & alternate solution with reasonable cost
