Job summary

Dastur International in Kolkata seeks a senior lead for Instrumentation & Control projects. You will guide strategic programs, drive technical-commercial decisions, and allocate resources to meet client commitments.

Scope includes proposal support, client engagement, capability development, and mentoring across multi-disciplinary teams, with emphasis on safety, cybersecurity, and standards compliance within industrial automation environments.

Qualifications

• Domain knowledge in Instrumentation & control systems.
• Awareness of communication systems (IT infra, CCTV, PA, wireless).
• Experience in a multi-disciplinary engineering organization with cross-domain collaboration.
• Knowledge of Indian and international standards in related field.
• Experience with SmartPlant/Aveva Engineering software suites.

Detail Engineering Capability

• Leading a team for conceptualization, System design, Basic & Detail engineering of Communication

b) Cost estimation

c) Preparation of drawings and documents: Schematic drawings, P&I diagrams, System configuration, Assignment drawings, Equipment location drawings, GA drawing of panels, Control philosophy, heat load calculation, UPS sizing and SLD, Instrument list and data sheets, I/O list, Loop wiring diagrams, instrument location and installation (hook-up) drawings, Electronic earthing scheme, Cable & JB schedule and interconnection, Cable / tray routing, Bill of Material

d) Vendor drawings review

e) Participation in FAT, Assistance in Commissioning

f) Co-ordination with Customer/End user, OEMs, Technology suppliers, System integrators, Contractors and Site team.

Domain knowledge

a) Domain knowledge in Instrumentation & control systems

b) Awareness in Communication systems like Telephone, IT infrastructure, CCTV, Loudspeaker Intercom/PA, Wireless communication and Safety/Security systems like Fire Detection & Alarm, Access control, vehicle tracking, traffic signaling etc.

c) Work experience in a multi-disciplinary Engineering organization, having exposure to collaborative engineering interacting with Process/Mechanical, Electrical, Civil/Structural, Construction, Projects and other departments.

d) Domain knowledge in Indian and International standards in related field.

e) Experience in SmartPlant / Aveva Engineering software suites.
