Job summary

Gujarat Fluorochemicals Limited in Vadodara seeks an Instrumentation & Control Engineer to support field instrumentation, DCS/PLC programs and process interlocks. You will prepare instrument data sheets, read P&IDs, and align with project timelines for effective execution.

You will troubleshoot analyzers and control valves, maintain instrument I/O databases in the DCS, apply root-cause analysis using Why-Why, and coordinate with technicians while adhering to IMS safety procedures and SOPs.

Responsibilities

• Preparation of instrument data sheets and hook-up drawings for process/pneumatics.
• Understand project timelines and align with peers/inter-department colleagues for effective project execution.
• Interpret P&ID’s, identify field, panel/soft tags.
• Understand process interlocks, dynamos and signages.
• Understand process logics for proper field instrumentation.
• Troubleshoot analyzers, control valves, etc.
• Prepare instrumentation I/O database in the DCS system and maintain SAP material requirements/WBS elements.
• Knowledge of control philosophy for plant automation.
• Understand field instrumentation (sensors, transducers, drives related to pressure, flow, temperature, level).
• Knowledge of DCS/PLC systems and ladder logic programs.
• Daily logbook accuracy and adherence to IMS guidelines; prepare weekly maintenance schedule.

• Clear understanding of Process interlocks, dynamos and signages.
• To understand the Process logics for proper Field instrumentation.
• Knowledge and trouble shooting of Analyzers, control valves, etc.
• Understanding of P&ID and Preparation instrumentation I/O database in the DCS system.
• Knowledge of control philosophy for plant automation.
• Knowledge of the field instrumentation (sensors, transducers, drives related to Pressure, Flow, Temperature, Level Controllers etc.)
• Knowledge of DCS / PLCs and Ladder Logic Programs
• To determine requirement, indenting, follow up for instruments and their spares and their checking prior to their acceptance for storage / use.
• Ensuring availability of required latest Standards.
• Guide technicians for day to day activity and monitor their progress.
• Ensure proper addressing of non-conformities thru’ root cause analysis using Why Why technique, preparation of Monthly Reports, Update Instrument Tag list periodically, Prepare Weekly Maintenance Schedule and its updating as per IMS guidelines and system requirements.
• Should have hands on SAP System for material requirement creation and WBS Elements
• Ensure daily logbook factually and fully reflects activities carried out.
• Understanding Integrated Management Systems, and Safety procedures for carrying out JSA and ability to prepare SOP’s.
