Job summary

Ingersoll Rand plc is seeking a field service engineer to provide on-site technical support for pumps across South India, including Tamil Nadu, Kerala, Karnataka, and neighboring states. You will handle complaints, analyze pump issues, and implement corrective actions while traveling regularly to customer sites.

Ideal candidates have a BE in Mechanical Engineering, strong pump domain knowledge, and the ability to manage multiple customer assignments with excellent communication in English, Tamil

Qualifications

• Experience in the pump industry, preferably in service, maintenance, troubleshooting, or commissioning activities.
• Strong knowledge of pump operation, maintenance, and failure analysis.
• Willingness to travel extensively across customer locations.
• Ability to work independently and manage multiple customer assignments.
• Communication requirements: English, Tamil & Hindi; other regional languages a plus.

Responsibilities

• Attend customer complaints and provide timely technical support.
• Analyse pump failures and identify root causes.
• Recommend and implement corrective actions to improve pump performance and reliability.
• Register customer complaints in the system and track to closure.
• Coordinate with internal departments and customers for prompt resolution.
• Prepare service reports and communicate findings professionally.
• Provide technical guidance and maintenance recommendations to customers.
• Take ownership of customer issues and ensure high levels of satisfaction.
• Travel extensively across South India for service activities and customer support.

Job Summary:

The candidate will be responsible for attending customer complaints, analysing pump failures, identifying root causes, and recommending effective corrective and preventive actions.The position requires extensive customer interaction, complaint management, and regular travel to customer locations. Strong communication skills and a customer-focused approach are essential.

Basic Qualification:

• Willingness to travel extensively across customer locations.
