Qualifications

• Minimum 5 years of experience in UPW, wastewater or sewerage treatment systems in semiconductor facilities.
• Bachelor's degree in engineering as specified.
• Experience in operation, maintenance, optimization and project management is advantageous.

Responsibilities

• Drive optimization and continuous improvement of water services and wastewater systems.
• Ensure zero non-compliance with water services and wastewater systems.
• Maintain relationships with local authorities (DOE, SAMB, and others).
• Develop capacity monitoring and planning processes using Tableau, SAP, and related systems.
• Define and maintain technology roadmap, specs, databases, and documentation.
• Lead or support project execution activities: feasibility, budgeting, design criteria, calculations, drawings, reporting, handover.
• Serve as site focal point for water services and wastewater systems.
• Act as local site technical expert for discussions and knowledge sharing within Facility Management Cluster.
• Lead and/or support problem solving using 8D, Lean Six Sigma, SPC, change management and other tools.

Key responsibilities in your new role

• Responsible for driving optimization and continuous improvement of water services and wastewater treatment systems to enhance productivity, reliability, operational stability, and environmental sustainability
• Ensure zero legal and corporate non‑compliance related to water services and wastewater treatment systems.
• Maintain strong working relationships with local authorities such as the Department of Environment (DOE), Syarikat Air Melaka Berhad (SAMB), and other relevant agencies.
• Develop and implement effective capacity monitoring and planning processes to ensure timely fulfillment of water service and wastewater treatment demands through tools such as Tableau, SAP, and other relevant systems.
• Define and maintain the technology roadmap, specifications, databases, and documentation for water services and wastewater treatment systems in compliance with local regulations and corporate requirements.
• Lead and/or support project execution activities, including but not limited to feasibility studies, budgeting, preparation and approval of design criteria, engineering calculations, specifications, drawings, documentation, cost control, reporting, and project handover.
• Serve as the site focal point for water services and wastewater treatment systems by providing technical support to both project and operations teams.
• Act as the local site technical expert and representative for discussions, knowledge sharing, and collaboration within the Facility Management Cluster.
• Lead and/or support problem‑solving and continuous improvement initiatives using methodologies such as 8D, Lean Six Sigma, Statistical Process Control (SPC), change management, and other improvement tools.

Your profile

• Bachelor's Degree in Engineering (Chemical, Mechanical, or a related discipline)
• Minimum of 5 years of relevant working experience in Ultra-Pure Water (UPW), Wastewater Treatment, and/or Sewerage Treatment Systems within the semiconductor industry, facilities management, engineering services, or related industries
• Experience in the operation, maintenance, optimization, and project management of water and wastewater treatment systems is an added advantage
