Job summary

Infineon Technologies AG is seeking a Staff Engineer Maintenance Test in our Manufacturing and Operations team. You will independently manage tasks to ensure non-conforming outputs are decided promptly and will apply advanced process control and SPC methodologies to resolve issues affecting equipment and yield.

The role emphasizes supporting start-up, qualification, and release for production, aligning maintenance strategies with quality and reliability objectives, and leading competency

Qualifications

  • Strong troubleshooting and diagnostic skills using a hands-on approach.
  • Good communication and interpersonal abilities.
  • Ability to monitor PM activities and OEE/MTBA performance.
  • Capable of monitoring and improving processes, materials, tooling and equipment documentation.

Responsibilities

  • Independently manage assigned tasks and areas with timely decisions on non-conforming outputs.
  • Prioritize multiple activities and apply structured problem-solving and SPC methods.
  • Maintain and improve setup, conversion, troubleshooting and maintenance practices for tester equipment.
  • Investigate failures and drive corrective actions to reduce downtime and improve yield.
  • Support new technologies and equipment start-up, qualification, and release for production.
  • Coordinate maintenance strategies and spare parts to support operational excellence.
  • Collaborate with Manufacturing, Process Engineering and suppliers for technical support.
  • Lead competency development for Technicians and Assistant Engineers through training.

Your role
Key responsibilities in your new role
  • Independently manage assigned tasks and areas of responsibility, making timely and accurate decisions on non-conforming products or equipment outputs based on demonstrated competency and technical expertise.
  • Prioritize multiple activities and apply structured problem-solving, advanced process control, and statistical process control methodologies to resolve manufacturing and equipment-related issues.
  • Establish, maintain, and continuously improve setup, conversion, troubleshooting, and maintenance practices to ensure high equipment uptime, reliability, safety, and performance for Tester, MSP, and Handler equipment.
  • Investigate equipment failures, implement corrective and preventive actions, and drive engineering solutions to reduce unscheduled downtime, improve equipment stability, and enhance yield performance.
  • Support engineering activities and the introduction of new technologies, products, packages, and processes, including equipment start-up, qualification, and Release for Production (RFP).
  • Coordinate and align maintenance strategies, policies, audits, Quality and Reliability Assurance (QRA) activities, and spare parts management to support operational excellence.
  • Collaborate effectively with Manufacturing, Process Engineering, and Equipment Suppliers to deliver technical support and sustainable equipment solutions.
  • Lead competency development initiatives for Technicians and Assistant Engineers through training, systematic troubleshooting, and knowledge transfer to achieve defined capability targets.
  • Drive continuous improvement projects to enhance Overall Equipment Efficiency (OEE) and achieve or exceed key performance indicators (KPIs) related to availability, reliability, cost, quality, and yield.
Your profile
Qualifications and skills to help you succeed
  • Master's or Bachelor's Degree in Engineering, preferably in Electrical Engineering, Electronics Engineering, Microelectronics, Mechatronics, Mechanical Engineering, or Semiconductor Technology, with a minimum of 5 years of relevant working experience.
  • Strong ability to troubleshoot and diagnose complex or infrequent issues using a systematic and hands-on approach.
  • Good communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Ability to monitor preventive maintenance (PM) activities, Overall Equipment Efficiency (OEE), Mean Time Between Assist (MTBA) performance, as well as assembly process quality and yield.
  • Ability to support the monitoring, analysis, control, and continuous improvement of processes, materials, tooling, and equipment, including the updating of relevant documentation.
