DesignCafe is seeking a Product Designer with 3-4 years of experience to drive product research, design, and development for furniture and interiors. You will lead concept creation, prototyping, and collaboration with cross-functional teams.

You will use SketchUp, AutoCAD, Canva and Adobe tools to prototype concepts, collaborate with engineering and manufacturing, and ensure designs meet quality standards and regulatory requirements.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's or Master's degree in Interior Design or Furniture Design.
• 3-4 years of product research, design and development experience.
• Proficiency in SketchUp and AutoCAD.

Key Responsibilities

Research & Analysis

• Conduct market research to identify emerging trends, customer needs, and competitor offerings.
• Collaborate with stakeholders to understand product requirements and specifications.
• Evaluate existing products and identify opportunities for innovation and improvement.

Design & Development

• Develop product concepts, prototypes, and proof-of-concept models.
• Use SketchUp, AutoCAD, and other design tools to create product designs and models.
• Work closely with manufacturing teams to ensure design feasibility, functionality, and scalability.

Testing & Validation

• Conduct product testing to assess performance, reliability, and quality.
• Analyze feedback and test results to refine and improve designs.
• Coordinate with quality teams to establish testing procedures and standards.

Cross-functional Collaboration

• Work closely with engineering, manufacturing, marketing, and other teams throughout the product development lifecycle.
• Participate in design reviews, brainstorming sessions, and technical discussions.
• Communicate project progress, challenges, and solutions to relevant stakeholders.

Documentation & Reporting

• Prepare and maintain design specifications, technical documentation, and product reports.
• Create presentations to communicate design concepts and product developments.
• Ensure designs align with relevant quality standards and applicable regulations.

Requirements

• Bachelor's or Master's degree in Interior Design or Furniture Design.
• 3-4 years of experience in product research, design, and development, preferably in furniture, interiors, or a manufacturing environment.
• Proficiency in SketchUp and AutoCAD.
• Working knowledge of Canva, Adobe Photoshop, Illustrator, or similar presentation and graphic design tools.
• Strong analytical, problem-solving, and decision-making skills.
• Excellent communication and cross-functional collaboration abilities.
