Utopia Choice Design is seeking a highly creative and experienced Product Designer to lead the design and development of premium furniture, home décor, and lifestyle products. The ideal candidate will possess a strong design sensibility, technical expertise, and a deep understanding of materials, manufacturing processes, and market trends. This role requires ownership of projects from concept development through production while mentoring junior designers and collaborating with cross‑functional teams.
Key Responsibilities
- Lead the design and development of furniture, homeware, and lifestyle products from concept to final production.
- Create innovative, functional, and aesthetically compelling designs aligned with the brand vision and market positioning.
- Develop detailed technical drawings, manufacturing specifications, prototypes, and production documentation.
- Generate high‑quality 3D models, renderings, presentations, and design visualizations.
- Collaborate closely with founders, craftsmen, vendors, manufacturers, and sourcing partners to ensure design feasibility and product quality.
- Research emerging trends, materials, finishes, sustainability practices, and consumer preferences.
- Oversee product development timelines, milestones, and execution to ensure timely launches.
- Lead prototype reviews, testing, and design refinements to optimize functionality, ergonomics, and production efficiency.
- Support custom furniture and collaborative client projects with tailored design solutions.
- Conduct market and competitor analysis to identify opportunities for product innovation and differentiation.
- Ensure products comply with quality standards, manufacturing requirements, and cost targets.
Qualifications
- Bachelor's or Master's Degree in Furniture Design, Industrial Design, Product Design, Interior Design, or a related field.
- 5–8+ years of professional experience in furniture, product, or industrial design.
- Proven portfolio demonstrating successful product launches, furniture design projects, and manufacturing execution.
- Experience working with premium, luxury, or contemporary furniture and home décor brands is preferred.
