Job summary

Wakefit Innovations seeks an experienced Product Designer to bridge aesthetics and functionality for modular home products. You'll lead end-to-end design—from concept through to final installation—working with engineering and manufacturing teams to refine prototypes during prototyping phases.

Ideal candidates have 5–8 years in modular furniture or interiors, a degree in Product/Industrial/Furniture Design from NID/MIT/NIFT or equivalent, and a strong portfolio demonstrating end-to-end project

Qualifications

• 5–8 years of experience in modular furniture/home interiors.
• Degree in Product Design/Industrial Design/Furniture Design from NID/MIT/NIFT or equivalent.
• Portfolio showcasing end-to-end projects from sketch to install.
• Strong design sensibility and understanding of materials and finishes; translate concepts to feasible designs.

Responsibilities

• Conduct user surveys, interviews, and market trend studies to understand the product category.
• Conceptualise and design modular product ranges aligned with brand aesthetics and trends.
• Develop detailed product specifications, including 2D/3D models, drawings and material selections.
• Present concepts to stakeholders for review and approval.
• Collaborate with engineering to translate designs to prototypes; travel to manufacturing facility as required.
• Coordinate with procurement, graphic design, L&D to ensure design intent is launched.
• Work with 3D rendering team to create imagery/catalogues for launch.

Job description

We are looking for a creative and detail-oriented Product Designer to join our design team. In this role, you will be the bridge between aesthetics and functionality and create modular solutions for the entire home.

Key Responsibilities

• User Surveys/interviews, store visits, competitor analysis, Indian & international market trend study etc to thoroughly understand the product category
• Conceptualise and design new modular product ranges that align with our brands aesthetics and market trends
• Develop detail product specifications, including 2D & 3D models, technical drawings and material selections
• Present design concepts and detailed proposals to internal stakeholders for review and approval.
• Work closely with the imos engineering team to translate designs to prototypes. Travel to our manufacturing facility as required during prototyping to refine and perfect the designs.
• Coordinate and collaborate with multiple stakeholders in the team from procurement, graphic design, L&D to ensure the product intent is translated till launch.
• Work closely with the 3D rendering team to create the required imagery/catalogues for various product categories prior to launch

Requirements

• 5-8 years of experience specifically in the modular furniture/home interior industry.
• Bachelors/ PG degree in Product Design/Industrial Design/ Furniture Design from NID/MIT/NIFT or equivalent
• Portfolio showcasing end-to-end projects from initial sketch to final installation.
• Strong Design sensibility and practical understanding of materials and finishes. Ability to translate concepts to technically feasible designs.
• AutoCAD, Rhino/sketchup or equivalent 3D software
