Job summary

Qualifications

Job Summary

We are looking for an experienced Senior Interior Designer with strong expertise in furniture design, space planning, customized furniture, and project execution. The candidate will be responsible for developing furniture concepts, preparing detailed drawings, coordinating with clients and production teams, and ensuring designs are practical, functional, and production-ready.

Key Responsibilities

• Lead the design and development of customized furniture and interior solutions.
• Understand client requirements and convert them into practical and aesthetically appealing designs.
• Prepare 2D layouts, furniture plans, elevations, sections, and detailed working drawings.
• Create furniture concepts and 3D designs using AutoCAD, SketchUp, 3D Max, or similar software.
• Handle complete design development from concept to final production drawings.
• Coordinate with clients, sales, production, carpentry, upholstery, and installation teams.
• Conduct site visits, take measurements, and develop designs according to actual site conditions.
• Select suitable materials, finishes, laminates, veneers, fabrics, hardware, and accessories.
• Ensure designs are technically feasible and suitable for manufacturing.
• Review production drawings and provide design clarification to the factory/production team.
• Make design modifications based on client feedback and site requirements.
• Monitor design execution and ensure the final product matches the approved design.
• Prepare material specifications, BOQ support, and furniture detailing wherever required.
• Manage multiple projects and ensure timely completion of design deliverables.
• Guide and review the work of junior interior designers and design team members.
• Maintain proper documentation of drawings, revisions, approvals, and project specifications.

Required Skills

• Strong knowledge of furniture design and manufacturing processes.
• Excellent knowledge of AutoCAD and SketchUp; proficiency in 3D software will be an advantage.
• Strong understanding of wood, plywood, MDF, veneer, laminates, solid wood, hardware, upholstery, and furniture fittings.
• Good knowledge of furniture dimensions, ergonomics, space planning, and detailing.
• Strong design visualization and presentation skills.
• Ability to prepare production-ready furniture drawings.
• Good client-handling and communication skills.
• Strong coordination and project management abilities.
• Ability to lead and mentor junior designers.

Qualification

Degree/Diploma in Interior Design, Furniture Design, Architecture, or a related field.

Preferred Experience

Candidates with experience in customized furniture, modular furniture, residential/commercial interiors, furniture manufacturing, turnkey projects, or luxury furniture will be preferred.
