Job summary

Simpson & Co. Ltd. in Chennai, India, seeks an experienced gearbox design engineer to lead end-to-end gear system development.

You will perform gear calculations, create 3D models and drawings, and collaborate with manufacturing and QA teams to ensure performance and reliability. The role requires 5–6 years of hands-on automotive gearbox experience, strong knowledge of gear geometry, materials, heat treatment, lubrication, and proficiency in SolidWorks or CATIA.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Mechanical Engineering or related field.
• 5–6 years of hands‑on experience in Automotive gearbox/system design.
• Strong understanding of gear geometry, materials, heat treatment, and lubrication.
• Proficiency in CAD software (SolidWorks, CATIA, or similar).
• Familiarity with analysis tools (ANSYS, KISSsoft, Romax, etc.) is a plus.
• Experience in both prototype and production-level design.
• Strong problem‑solving skills and attention to detail.
