Job Title: Design System Engineer – Gearboxes, Clutch System, DMF, ESS & Driveline

Engineering Discipline.
Responsibilities
- Lead Design, Release and eBOM activities for the assigned System or SubSystem ensuring project Quality, Cost, Timing & Performance (QCTP) requirements with COE and DRE’s.
- Responsible for Gearboxes, Clutch, DMF, ESS & Driveline hardware integration and balancing of complete system.
- Main interface with individual COEs & DRE’s, Manufacturing, Suppliers and Development Validation Engineers.
- Support Gearboxes, Clutch, DMF, ESS & Driveline Technical Specifications (TTS) with AE and key stakeholders for consistency per respect to System or Subsystem limitations.
- Coordinate with all stakeholders to create/maintain Component DFMEAs, Assembly drawing, Risk list/assessments, DVP&R’s (including virtual engineering, variable simulation analysis (VSA), test plan and reports).
- Schedule hardware system design reviews to review DRE design proposals as required.
- Coordinate with ACE & FM on BOM and experimental Gearboxes, Clutch, DMF, ESS & Driveline.
- Represent CE in managing “Lessons Learned” and all technical documents for the program and ensure Gearboxes, Clutch, DMF, ESS & Driveline Technical Specifications (TTS) and EBPs are updated in a timely manner.
- Review and approve all change notices and prototype orders ensuring proper checklists, LL, and EBPs are updated and aligned.
- Review component “Validation Completion” status with DVC team periodically & provide updates to CE (DVPR).
- Oversee DRBTR reviews, maintain follow-up items and decide on issuing GIMS or PLM/ISS for any issues. (Lead: DEVVAL – Make; DRE – Buy)
- Work with ACE and FM to rationalize COE bulletin assessments.
- Coordinate data generation and approvals for homologation documents.
- Support Technical Cost Reductions (TCR), Value Optimizations (VO) and benchmarking of competitive Gearboxes, Clutch, DMF, ESS & Driveline.
- Support Product Readiness and LRF (Launch Readiness Form) completion with all stakeholders (COE, DSE, DRE, SWX, Control, Calibration).
Requirements / Skill Set
- Bachelor / Master Degree in Mechanical/Automotive Engineering Discipline.
- 12 to 15 years of experience in External shift system & Clutch operating system Design and Development.
- Good knowledge of Design, Development & Validation.
- Sound knowledge on design of components.
- Sound knowledge on Detailing, Tolerance and stack up analysis.
- Good knowledge on materials and heat treatment process.
- Good knowledge of PLM & APQP processes.
- Knowledge of structural simulations (CAE) would be preferable.
- Very good soft skills.
- Able to coordinate with team of engineers and be well versed with interaction.
