Accion Labs is seeking a senior support engineer to ensure finance-domain applications run reliably. You will troubleshoot at the OS level, resolve incidents quickly, and communicate clearly with technical teams and business stakeholders.

You will own L2/L3 support for Linux/Unix platforms, perform root cause analysis, and collaborate with development, infrastructure, and vendor teams. Shift work is expected.

We are hiring a senior support engineer to keep complex finance-domain applications and platforms running reliably. You will troubleshoot hands-on at the operating-system level and explain issues and fixes clearly to both technical teams and business stakeholders. Strong communication matters as much as technical depth in this role.

Key responsibilities

• Provide L2/L3 support for complex, business-critical finance applications and platforms running on Linux/Unix.
• Diagnose and resolve incidents quickly, from OS-level problems (CPU, memory, disk, network, processes) to application and integration failures.
• Perform root cause analysis, document findings, and drive permanent fixes so issues do not repeat.
• Monitor system and application health, and act on alerts before they become outages.
• Handle patching, upgrades, configuration changes, and deployments with proper change control.
• Write and maintain runbooks, knowledge articles, and support documentation.
• Communicate clearly during incidents: give timely updates, escalates appropriately, and write clear post-incident summaries.
• Work with development, infrastructure, and vendor teams to resolve cross-team issues.
• Mentor junior team members and share knowledge.

Required skills and experience

• 5-10 years of experience in application or platform support, with a strong hands-on focus on Linux/Unix.
• Deep command-line skills and comfort with troubleshooting: logs, process and resource analysis, networking, file systems, permissions, and services.
• Proven experience supporting complex applications and platforms in production environments, with finance-domain experience (banking, capital markets, payments, or similar) strongly preferred. Familiarity with high availability, end-of-day and batch processing, audit trails, and compliance expectations is expected.
• Very good written and verbal communication skills, including explaining technical issues simply to non-technical audiences. This is a key selection criterion.
• Solid incident, problem, and change management practices.
• Working knowledge of shell scripting to automate routine tasks.
• Willingness to work in shifts, including irregular shifts.
