Job summary

Linxon in Chennai, India, is seeking a SCM Engineer to join its Supply Chain Management team. The role focuses on continuous verification and analysis of Linxon prequalified vendors globally, identifying risks, and updating vendor lists after prequalification.

You will manage vendor onboarding in SAP Ariba, perform risk assessments, ensure onboarding before PO placement, and conduct RFQ activities. Requires 5–10+ years in IT procurement, ERP exposure (SAP/Oracle), and strong negotiation skills

Qualifications

• Engineering graduate with 5–10+ years in IT procurement and vendor onboarding.
• Experience with IT hardware, software licensing models, SaaS and IT services.
• Exposure to ERP systems such as SAP or Oracle.
• Proficient in SAP Ariba and vendor management strategies.
• Strong negotiation skills and fluency in English.

Responsibilities

• Vendor onboarding in SAP Ariba by initiating supplier requests.
• Verify prequalification documents during onboarding.
• Analyze vendor risk and perform checks in SAP Ariba.
• Update and maintain vendor list; ensure onboarding before placing PO.
• Periodic checks on mandatory documents uploaded by suppliers.
• Launch RFQ and obtain vendor offers before deadlines in SAP Ariba.

This role sits within our Supply Chain Management team. The purpose of the role is to provide a continuous verification and analysis of the complete Linxon prequalified vendors globally, identifying potential risks and keeping Linxon vendor list updated after the prequalification process has been successfully completed.

What will you do?

• Vendor Onboarding process in SAP Ariba Portal by initiating supplier request.
• Verification of prequalification documents provided by the suppliers during onboarding process.
• Analyze and perform Vendor Risk assessment check in SAP Ariba.
• Updating and Maintaining Complete Vendor List and to ensure completion of Vendor onboarding process before placing PO.
• Perform Periodic Check on mandatory documents uploaded by Supplier during onboarding process.
• Launching RFQ and receiving offer from Vendor before deadline in SAP Ariba Portal.

Experience And Education Required

• Minimum Engineering Graduate in engineering or equivalent qualification and applicable experience of 5 to 10 + years of experience in IT procurement, supply chain, Vendor onboarding and procurement.
• Experience with IT hardware, software licensing models, SaaS, and IT services
• Exposure to ERP systems (SAP, Oracle, or similar)
• Procurement of IT related items, Applications, cloud services, software licenses and IT software experience are required.
• Good knowledge of SAP Ariba system.
• Good knowledge in electrical Equipment's.
• Strong understanding of IT products, services, and licensing models
• Excellent negotiation and vendor management skills
• Fluent in English
