Job summary

Linxon, Chennai, India, is seeking an SCM Engineer to support vendor onboarding, risk assessment, and procurement processes within the Supply Chain Management team. The role focuses on SAP Ariba-based onboarding, vendor verification, and maintaining vendor data to ensure timely PO placement.

The ideal candidate has 5–10+ years in IT procurement, ERP exposure (SAP/Oracle), and strong negotiation skills, with fluency in English.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s or equivalent in engineering; 5–10+ years IT procurement, supply chain, or vendor onboarding experience.
• Experience with IT hardware, software licensing models, SaaS, and IT services.
• Exposure to ERP systems (SAP, Oracle, or similar) and procurement of IT items and cloud services.
• Good knowledge of SAP Ariba system and IT licensing models.
• Strong negotiation and vendor management skills; fluent in English.

Responsibilities

• Onboard vendors via SAP Ariba Portal by initiating supplier requests.
• Verify prequalification documents provided by suppliers during onboarding.
• Analyze and perform vendor risk assessment in SAP Ariba.
• Maintain complete vendor list and ensure onboarding is completed before issuing POs.
• Perform periodic checks on mandatory documents during onboarding.
• Launch RFQs and receive offers from vendors in SAP Ariba before deadlines.

Job Title: SCM Engineer

Job Location: Chennai, India

This role sits within our Supply Chain Management team. The purpose of the role is to provide a continuous verification and analysis of the complete Linxon prequalified vendors globally, identifying potential risks and keeping Linxon vendor list updated after the prequalification process has been successfully completed.

What will you do?

Vendor Onboarding process in SAP Ariba Portal by initiating supplier request.

Verification of prequalification documents provided by the suppliers during onboarding process.

Analyze and perform Vendor Risk assessment check in SAP Ariba.

Updating and Maintaining Complete Vendor List and to ensure completion of Vendor onboarding process before placing PO.

Perform Periodic Check on mandatory documents uploaded by Supplier during onboarding process.

Launching RFQ and receiving offer from Vendor before deadline in SAP Ariba Portal.

Experience and Education Required:

Minimum Engineering Graduate in engineering or equivalent qualification and applicable experience of 5 to 10 + years of experience in IT procurement, supply chain, Vendor onboarding and procurement. Experience with IT hardware, software licensing models, SaaS, and IT services Exposure to ERP systems (SAP, Oracle, or similar) Procurement of IT related items, Applications, cloud services, software licenses and IT software experience are required. Good knowledge of SAP Ariba system. Good knowledge in electrical Equipment’s. Strong understanding of IT products, services, and licensing models Excellent negotiation and vendor management skills Fluent in English.
