Job summary

Electrolabgroup is seeking a Mechanical Vendor Development Engineer in Navi Mumbai to identify and onboard vendors for sheet metal, castings, forgings, and machined parts. You will review drawings, GD&T, and material specs, providing DFM inputs during new product launches.

You will conduct capability assessments, process audits, and maintain supplier scorecards, leading quarterly business reviews with strategic vendors.

Qualifications

• 2-4 years in vendor/supplier development within manufacturing (automotive, industrial, capital goods, pharma machinery).
• Strong knowledge of sheet metal, CNC machining, casting, forging, injection moulding processes.
• Lean / Six Sigma Green Belt preferred; ERP experience (SAP/Oracle) is a plus.

Responsibilities

• Identify, evaluate, and onboard mechanical vendors (sheet metal, castings, forgings, machined parts, plastics).
• Conduct capability assessments, process audits, and onboard New Supplier.
• Review engineering drawings, GD&T, and material specs; provide DFM inputs during New Product Launch.
• Monitor and drive reduction in incoming rejection rates via CAPA.
• Publish supplier scorecards (QDCR) and lead QBRs with strategic vendors.
• Support Procurement team, if any issues observed at production.
• Bridge the technical gap between QC and Procurement Team.
• Identify VA/VE opportunities to achieve 3–5% cost savings on managed spend.
• Manage ECN implementation at vendor end within agreed timelines.
