Bridgestone - Global Capability Center in Bengaluru is seeking an experienced Test Lead to drive Quality Engineering across 6+ delivery pods and a 15-person QA team. Test Lead Retail & Enterprise Applications

We are seeking an experienced and strategic Test Lead to lead Quality Engineering and Testing within our Global Capability Center (GCC). This role will oversee testing across 6+ Agile delivery pods, managing a team of approximately 15 QA professionals supporting Retail Operations, POS, Inventory, Merchandising, Supply Chain, and SAP-integrated applications.

The ideal candidate will have strong experience in test leadership, release management, stakeholder communication, and enterprise application integration testing. This individual will define testing strategy, drive release readiness, establish quality governance, and ensure successful delivery across a portfolio of business-critical initiatives.

Key Responsibilities

Quality Leadership & Delivery Management

• Lead, mentor, and develop a team of 15+ QA professionals across multiple Agile pods.
• Establish testing standards, governance processes, and quality metrics across the portfolio.
• Manage QA resourcing, capacity planning, performance, and team growth.
• Drive continuous improvement and promote a quality-first culture.

Test Strategy & Portfolio Management

• Define and execute portfolio-level test strategies covering functional, integration, regression, UAT, end-to-end, and non-functional testing.
• Oversee testing activities across multiple projects, releases, and delivery teams.
• Manage test environments, dependencies, defects, risks, and issue resolution.
• Provide visibility into testing progress, quality metrics, and key risks.

Release Planning & Governance

• Lead release planning, test execution, release readiness reviews, and go-live activities.
• Define quality gates, entry/exit criteria, and release sign-off recommendations.
• Coordinate testing efforts across business, technology, and vendor teams.
• Support production validation and post-release verification.

Retail & Enterprise Application Testing

Lead testing across Retail and Store Operations platforms, including POS Systems, Inventory Management, Pricing & Promotions, Loyalty Programs, Order Management, Payments, Omnichannel Retail Processes.

• Ensure successful end-to-end validation of business processes across retail and SAP ecosystems.
• Oversee API, integration, batch, and middleware testing involving SAP and third-party applications.

Stakeholder Management

• Act as the primary QA lead for business and technology stakeholders.
• Provide regular updates on testing status, release readiness, risks, and mitigation plans.
• Facilitate defect triage, quality reviews, and release governance meetings.
• Deliver executive-level reporting through quality dashboards and KPIs.

Continuous Improvement

• Drive adoption of automation, shift-left testing, and quality engineering best practices.
• Establish and monitor KPIs such as test coverage, defect leakage, release stability, automation coverage, and production defects.
• Continuously improve testing efficiency, release predictability, and product quality.

Required Qualifications

• Bachelors degree in computer science, Engineering, Information Technology, or a related field.
• 12+ years of experience in Software Testing and Quality Assurance.
• 5+ years of experience leading QA teams and enterprise testing programs.
• Proven experience managing testing across multiple Agile teams, products, or delivery pods.
• Experience leading teams of 10-15+ QA resources.
• Strong experience with Retail Operations, POS, or enterprise business applications.
• Experience with SAP ECC, SAP S/4HANA, or SAP-integrated environments.
• Strong expertise in API, integration, and end-to-end testing.
• Experience with Agile Scrum, SAFe, or similar delivery methodologies.
• Hands-on experience with JIRA, Azure DevOps (ADO), or similar tools.
• Strong understanding of release management, quality governance, and testing best practices.
• Excellent communication, leadership, stakeholder management, and problem-solving skills.
