Job summary

Birlasoft is seeking an SAP Test Practice Leader to define the strategic vision for SAP QA and testing services. You will scale a global team, standardize testing frameworks, and champion automation across SAP solutions including S/4HANA migrations.

Lead governance, risk management, and client advisory to align technical excellence with business growth. The role requires 15–18+ years in IT QA with at least 6+ years managing large SAP testing programs.

Qualifications

• 15–18+ years in IT Quality Assurance
• At least 6+ years leading large-scale SAP testing delivery
• Experience with Agile, DevOps, CI/CD, and modern QA practices
• Deep SAP module knowledge (FICO, MM, SD, PP)
• Experience with SAP S/4HANA Greenfield/Brownfield implementations
• Proven expertise in ALM tools and test automation suites
• Education in CS/IT/Business; advanced certifications preferred

The SAP Test Practice Leader will define and drive the strategic vision for our SAP Quality Assurance (QA) and testing services. This individual will establish standardized testing frameworks, scale a high-performing team of global testing professionals, and champion cutting-edge automation. As a key executive, you will act as a trusted advisor to clients transforming their business landscapes (e.g., SAP S/4HANA migrations) and bridge the gap between technical excellence, business needs, and commercial growth.

Key Responsibilities:

Strategic Direction & Governance

• Define the long-term vision, service catalog, and go-to-market strategy for the SAP testing practice.
• Establish standardized, modern SAP testing methodologies (such as Agile, DevOps, and SAP Activate) across all enterprise accounts.
• Standardize KPIs, metrics, and quality gates to guarantee zero-defect or low-defect rollouts for complex global templates.

Delivery Excellence & Automation

• Architect end-to-end testing strategies spanning Functional, Integration, Regression, Security, Performance, and User Acceptance Testing (UAT).
• Drive a "Continuous Testing" culture by scaling automated frameworks using tools like SAP Solution Manager (SolMan), SAP Cloud ALM, Tosca, Worksoft, Selenium, or Micro Focus UFT.
• Act as an escalation point for mission-critical delivery risks, ensuring large-scale hypercare transitions run smoothly.

Business Development & Commercial Management

• Partner with the sales and pre-sales teams to pitch SAP testing capabilities, construct proposals (RFPs), and estimate pricing/resource models.
• Own the Profit & Loss (P&L) statement for the testing practice, driving utilization, margin control, and revenue growth.

People & Capability Leadership

• Mentor, train, and structurally lead a global team of SAP Test Managers, Automation Architects, and Engineers.
• Build training academies to upskill resources on newer SAP landscapes like S/4HANA, BTP, SuccessFactors, Ariba, and IBP.

Required Profile & Qualifications

• Experience: 15–18+ years in IT Quality Assurance, with at least 6+ years specifically leading large-scale SAP testing delivery, programs, or practices.
• Knowledge of Tricentis Tosca for test automation, test design, and regression suite optimization (Good to have)
• Experience with Agile, DevOps, CI/CD, and modern QA practices.
• Technical Depth: Deep foundational knowledge of major SAP modules (FICO, MM, SD, PP) and extensive experience managing SAP S/4HANA Greenfield/Brownfield implementations.
• Tool Fluency: Proven expertise in ALM tools (SAP Solution Manager, SAP Cloud ALM, Jira, Micro Focus ALM) and major test automation suites.
• Leadership Skills: Demonstrated experience managing cross-functional global delivery models (Onsite/Offshore) and managing operational budgets.
• Education: Bachelor’s or master’s degree in computer science, Information Technology, Business Administration, or a related field.
• Certifications (Preferred): ISTQB Advanced/Expert Level, SAP Activate, or project management credentials (PMP, Scaled Agile/SAFe)
