ABB is seeking an experienced Senior Engineering Manager to lead an electrification solutions team for Energy industries in Bangalore, India. The role focuses on technical descriptions, cost determination, final documentation, and serving as a key technical resource during proposal processes.

The candidate will drive bid strategy, technical innovations, and on-time delivery of techno-commercial offers, aligning with international standards and customer requirements.

Qualifikationen

• BE or B.Tech in Electrical/Electronics/Control is required.
• Experience in the Energy industry is preferred (6–8 years).
• Knowledge of electrical product types and systems is essential.
• Awareness of high voltage equipment (HV) and related standards is advantageous.
• Experience with offshore/onshore project bidding is beneficial.

This Position reports to

Senior Engineering Manager

Your role and responsibilities

The primary focus of this role will be to Supports the assigned Sales organization (division and market) and customers during the proposal process by preparing technical descriptions of the products and technology, determining costs, preparing final documentation, and serving as a key technical resource in the assigned area.

The work model for the role is

This role is contributing to Process Automation business for Operation Centers and Quality division based in Bangalore, India.

You will be mainly accountable for

• Lead, Mentor, and be team Player in high performing Electrification solution team, manage productivity, drive standardization, delivery quality & competitive solution
• Participate in Bidding strategy, cost optimization, technical Solution innovation, support project handover
• Managing timely Technical & Commercial offer delivery, monitoring quality of bids and driving productivity. Delivering the Technical solution for Electrification of Green field and Brownfield Energy Industries customer
• Evaluating the various E-House Structural Vendors for the project specific optimized Techno- Commercial solutions
• Driving the E-House Pre-Bid Engineering solutions to arrive at optimum E-House Layouts, and HVAC, HV, MV, LV, UPS, F&G, HVAC, Drive systems for E House application. Understanding the various International Standard/ statutory requirement like IEC / ANSI/ ABS/UL.

Qualifications for the role

• BE or B. Tech Degree ideally focused on Electrical / Electronics /Control
• Ideally 6 to 8 years’ experience within the Energy industry but not essential
• Previous engineering experience for Electrical System, Electrical distribution network.
• Knowledge and experience of Power System Study and ideas for optimization of Electrical network.
• Good knowledge of Electrical Products (Switchgear, Transformer, VFD, Control & Protection equipment Power Quality equipment, IS Limiter, DC/UPS etc)
• Knowledge of High Voltage product (220 kV, 132 kV, 66 kV etc and CRP) added advantage.
• Knowledge of Offshore / On-shore requirements including offshore class rules like ABS, DNV and market demand / requirement. Experience of bidding international projects.
